Then just wait a month or two after 2.3 for personal housing. Of course, I highly doubt it'll be anywhere near as cheap as 300k.
That's one of the reasons I made my own personal FC and have leveled every bit of it by myself from day one and bought my own small house with no one elses help. I have my own house, garden, FC chest, actions to use when I see fit, and no FC drama to deal with.
I see no need to be in an FC in this game as long as linkshells exist.
I think they mentioned you can't leave FC or disband FC if there's a personal room in it

Seems like a huge oversight if you can't remove someone from your FC if they own a private room.
I'm just going to continue to save my money for a private house. They said on Tuesday it would be before 2.4 sometime, so I'll just keep hoarding my money until then.

price of 2 tribe mounts, seems reasonable to me

i love my solo FC house. the only downside is if i take more than a 35 day break.
You people with single person FCs and houses are part of why they made housing so expensive...they didn't want everyone making their own FCs on their own and buying up especially all the small plots available... Back on topic though, I believe the rooms will be an FC Permission that the leader will have to give people of a certain rank. There's a double edged sword with this and removing people from FC because an FC leader can be just as much a troll as someone the FC leader wants to kick. I would be royally pissed if FC leader took a hissy because he lost a lot and kicked me costing me my 300k room and all my furnishings but as a leader I also wouldn't want a troll exploiting the room to keep me from removing them.

this sentence is ignorant. they made housing expensive because they did not plan well enough for 2.0s release. when it opened and people flooded in, crashing with errors left and right, they had to make some adjustments. one such adjustment was to introduce FC only housing first and set the price so high so that very few GROUPS could obtain any plots for weeks/months. in essence, when FC housing was introduced it was a forced Beta. now when it comes to your theory about people buying too many small houses... have you looked at the wards? idk about Midwhatever, but on Cactuar, there are plenty of small houses and all sitting at 2m-ish which is completely possible for 1 person to obtain.

Not to mention new players get all those level 4 materials from the crystal tower chain.Gil's pretty easy to come by at 50 in small chunks. If you're a new up and comer fresh to 50 you shouldn't really worry either - saving all your allagan coins and levelling frugally would have netted you around 300k by itself at 2.0. With all the gil fountains now with daily roulettes, treasure maps, challenge logs, GC vendors, you should have zero problem coming up with 300k.
