I'm going Accuracy/Parry because when gearing I'm always going to max ACC first then get as much Parry as possible. If I have a weapon that already prioritizes this, I'll have more options with the rest of my gear. The Novus probably won't ever be the Best in Slot when compared to raid weapons but it looks cool and will be a competitive choice for all content.

Hi, guys and, again, thanks for your replies!

I'd recommend going all in 31 Det and splitting the remaining 44 between Critical and Accuracy, leaning more toward Critical and taking as little acc as you can.
Not to mention that I'll save gil from higher tier materias. This is a good option, since, for example, the T5 weapon has 23 acc and it's part of the bis setting. So, despite the damage, it means that THAT amount of acc is more than enough. Food for the rest. But...

I'm going Accuracy/Parry because when gearing I'm always going to max ACC first then get as much Parry as possible.
I was suggested about this today as well. It's a tanky-tank weapon, which is nice. Yes, my point when I mentioned the bis setting is not about including this weapon in that category, but to know the acc/other stats I'll be getting by having the other pieces of gear.

    ...

The thing is, I'll stack up to 20/23 acc for now. I can stack the rest of the Alexandrite until I decide what to do with the Novus. There're a lot of mixed opinions about the current stats, but I want to maximize its efficiency as much as I can until I get the High Allagan Weapon or the Zodiacal Questline continues.

T9 acc is around 515-516 not 520. I would keep the Acc on weapon, it give you more room to use different type of armor. the 4th stat is a toss up between DET/CRIT/PARRY depend on which BiS you going for.

Just my thoughts: they said you will be able to switch the stats later by doing another sphere scroll. So even if you are not sure you can pick one now and redo it later (getting alex will be faster later). For those of you thinking of going DET, wouldn't switching out a VIT accessory for a STR accessory be better? yeah you might lose a couple hundred HP but your DPS would increase much more because of the STR bonus? If that 1 accessory is STR, DET, CRIT and then keeping ACC and PARRY on the sword would be golden... Just thinking that keeping ACC and PAR on the sword opens up a lot more options on the gear side. What you guys think?

I'm doing Acc,parry then det depending on IV prices.

Yes a single STR accessory is more DPS then 31 det.

Something to keep in mind for the DPS stats is that Det is the best of the 3 on a point per point basis. With most gear you get less Det than you would Crit or SS which sort of balances this out. However, on the novus, I don't know if you'll suffer the stat penalty for Det that comes with most gear. Since you can only put 33 (or whatever) Det on the novus, I'm thinking that you get the full +1 Det per meld and no stat penalty.

Im planning to go +10 ACC for shield, +20 ACC for sword and rest goes for parry, this way i dont need to worry about re-infusing in future as i know that i will always get atleast +30 ACC for both sword and shield.

Max Parry, then finish off ACC. I'm with the "Plan for the Future" crowd allowing you more choices to switch up gear since they are more commonly aquired.

Currently I'm thinking about maxing det and parry in the sword, then max parry in the shield and put the last 9 into acc. Honestly if you set yourself up with the right noct/h.allagan mix it's beyond easy to get to the T9 accuracy requirement and beyond, but a little extra bit can't hurt. (Plus a noct hoplon is 13 acc/9 parry, so this is just the inverse.) But damage is still important even for tanks, and even more so if you're like me and have a Fight or Flight+Bloodbath macro always ready to go.
