I just seem to have hit a wall. I am war i53 and have been for two weeks. I've been told to run wp but keep going into it with people leaving straight away as they are speed running or the rest of us are under levelled. I work 6 days a week and only play on my day off as I'm out the house most the day and it annoys me that everything on my quest list it currently either linked to duty finder which relies on actually completing a dungeon or relic quests which are going to cost 400000 to buy the required materia. My FC will normally help out but I'm on late at night so there isn't always people about. Any suggestions?

Ouch. Getting the first class over the level 50 'hurdle' is the hardest part to be honest (especially when you're tank because it will cause aggro problems). Once you've done it once, it's easy to acquire some gear to 'headstart' your other classes.

If you can, watch a video for the Crystal Tower so you know what you're getting into (tanks probably need to know more about the place than others, even if you only end up offtanking everything) and go there - it's 150 Mythology per run (~1/3rd of a piece of i90 gear) and potential level 80 gear drops, and frankly, probably going to be easier than running places like Amdapor or Wanderer's Palace. Even if a 24-man dungeon sounds intimidating, CT is not that bad!

You can also use duty roulettes to acquire mythology - Low Level roulettes (doing the dungeons from 15-47), or Main Story roulette (which is Castrum/Praetorium), once per day, they give out pretty significant iLvl. As a tank, you should also acquire nice gold bonuses for Adventurer In Need regularly. Send your retainers on Ventures and sell what they bring back (if you can get them to level 45, the Exploration Level 45 is 18 hours but almost always brings back a Materia that'll net a few thousand!), and on top of acquiring stuff from the dungeons you run, you'll be surprised at how fast you start just racking up gil without even noticing.

Yes I agree on the forums. Think of forums as extra entertainment mostly. Not anything really serious. As for the prerelic bow and materia that's what a good, helpful, friendly FC will do for you. I've only recently started working on crafting but have already made a few of those prerelic items for people that were hitting 50. Before that I would just buy them both the materia and the weapon(mostly because some prices are spiraling out of control at times).

The important thing is to have fun inbetween all the grinding, disapointments with RNG and bad apples ruining runs and such. Another thing that I enjoy doing is running dungeons/trials blind. Basically learn the fight(s) as I go along(of course this only happens with new dungeons for me but if you can get a group of people that don't know them you could do that as well).

I noticed I had enough for an ilvl 90 belt, which has helped as that was the once piece of gear under 50 and bringing my ilvl down. It has now shot up to 56 so some previously lock content is now available. I think I should probably watch/ read more guides before jumping in as after being away all week, it can take a while to get your groove back

The easiest way to gear up currently imo is myth gear. Story and low level roulettes give 100 myth each. It takes about an hour to complete both (without waiting times). If you were to do it every day after 31-33 days you would have enough myth to buy i90 full body equipment with accessories and relic + relic zenith parts. If you could spare 45-60 minutes (instance + wait time) for at least a story roulette it would still be good. Buy the gear that gives you the best bonus first, then you will be able to do myth farm on new dungeons sooner (on weekends). Wear craftable lvl 45+ your class accessories to the story roulette and convert them to materia, sell all materia you do not need to get more accessories if not lucky. If they are HQ and have cheap elemental materia attached to 100% slot spiritbonding would be a lot faster.
I hope at least some of this you will find useful

I find low level roulette is fine, haven't really done the story ones as I'm not long out of end game and just didn't fancy them again but its probably time to go back to it. I probably get 5-13 hours to play a week so the grinds seem like they are forever, I really need to see if I can get the remote play on my vita working away from the house then could do some on my downtime at work. Haven't done much converting as I have been in job quest gear for a while so didn't have much to convert bit it seems like a better option than paying 300,000 x 2 for battle dance to carry on my relic
