Allow atmas to drop anytime.

This isnt a complaint thread seeing as i find farming a week to get 12 atmas 100x easier than it was to farm for a relic in ffxi. But it would be cool to allow the atma to drop at any time on any job level without having an atma equipped. Theres certain fates in some areas where loot drops for quests even tho the quest is not active in the journal. Why cant the same be done with atma? The goal isnt to equip every class with the relic by the time ur done leveling to 50 but to know u may have a few extra atmas for an alt i think will make players wanna aim for multiple relics.

I think the intentional direction is that people AREN'T going to have multiple fully upgraded relics. The option is there, but the struggle is obviously multiplied if you choose to do it. You say that the goal isn't to equip every class with a relic, but that's essentially what the intent is if you allow for Atma drops to happen without restriction. For now, I don't think that's what they want. You can't really pick and choose what part of an argument you think fits when there's more to it than that. Some people, like me, who finished Atma relatively quick (around 12-15hrs I think total), can easily finish Atma collection while leveling if that string of "luck" were to occur even remotely similar.

ya well try the few of us who have spent a 100+ grinding grinding grinding and more GRINDING to not get a single drop, I have 6 in total since the atma patch....if you want to limit it to one there are BETTER ways of doing that then putting a stupid half brained idea of poor RNG + FATES together. Im sorry the game has been fun but this is the most idiotic thing ever...AND you CANT farm the bloody fates on ANOTHER CLASS so its all wasted xp!!! hell you could lock the whole atma relic zodiac w/e to one per character so they have to really choose which one they wanna do and then open it up to the other jobs as time goes on.... making fates easier isn't the solution to this involving rng is the problem were doing a QUEST not farming a boss for some loot.

The Atma phase is probably THE worst part of the relic quests so far. Once you get to the books it's smooth sailing, aside from the Four Winds fate which may require some help. Even the Novus grind is easier, though the daily maps pose a bit of a challenge. I find that challenge each day fun but that's just me.

I don't agree with everything. I think that atma should be droppable to any class that is level 50. I also wish I could get atma while farming alexanderites. Now I need to choose, do I want to go as my white mage to upgrade the animus, or my summoner to get atma. I wish I could do both

this is just a thought.... but why not make it so that you just require the Zenith to be in your inventory while in a fate... I can't see this being such an extra thing to implement into the code but maybe I am wrong.. It would be a way to prevent people who don't have a job able to use it from gaining the atma as well it would enable people who are doing alex fates if they have multiple zeniths to also begin the work towards their next animus as they continue to farm alex for the novus.. just a thought

I like this idea. They should make alexandrite feel like a step up in difficulty for relics not the same rinse n repeat task. Kinda like the trials in ffxi where ur first set was kill 100 mobs. Then next tier was 250 ect... they had set tasks and not rng luck.

You can buy back a relic from calamity salvager. You would not need a second jobs relic

Indeed. And it's certainly my intention to have a relic of some sort on all of my DoW/DoM once I've done leveling them. Now to what degree I'll achieve this will depend entirely on how much time I ultimately end up playing this game for. Will I have fully maxed out relics on all of these classes? I think its fair to say I certainly will not. There are 8 classes (and soon to increase) to do this on so that would take so much time so as to be impossible. But for me it isnt the point to max them out. If the process keeps me busy and actively playing, then I'll be happy with that and SE will have done their job quite nicely.
