How come your character information only show lv 26 MRD tho?
but anyway to answer your question. Some party require war to go mrd in T8 and T9. but it is "not necessary". War can do the task also. If you ask if it is better or not, then yes, it is better as MRD. Just like when you solo, people would say MRD also better.
So in party, you play class a little bit depend on situation, and when solo, if you bother, then you can also change to class to be more effective.

Do you have any examples? I'll be glad to gear up my Marauder for solo etc...just dont know where to look...Thanks!
Warrior only really starts to be better for soloing when you start getting the Warrior specific equipment that Marauder can't wear. The stuff that Marauder can also wear is typically harder to get than the WAR specific stuff. But once you're rocking those the stuff you solo melts easily anyway.

Sure you can pretty much use any cross class skill you want if you unequip you soul stone, that is true.
You all do realize you take like a 10% stat penalty though by removing your soul crystal right? Sure, for maybe a dps job, you might be able to stack a bunch of dps cooldowns and try to make up the difference but... Even so, It seems questionable at best, or everyone would be doing it.
Your base stats (like strength, dexterity, etc) are hard to replace with just a cooldown unless you didn't have as many dps stats as other dps classes to begin with (like the mentioned warrior).
A heads up though, you also can't wear any of your job specific AF gear when you remove your soul stone either, but allagan gear, crafted gear and soldiery gear are options.

Going to be honest and say that I don't bother to unequip my soul crystal to go back to MRD. I don't really have enough cross-class skills to make it worth it, nor do I have a useful axe aside from my relic at the moment.
That said, even if I had the cross-class skills unlocked, I still wouldn't bother. Last thing I need when tanking as WAR is trying to use a useful cross-class skill that I don't have access to.
Current Tome Requirements for Zodiac Weapons:Until now there have been mainly two means of progression: the first being defeating powerful enemies in end-game content to obtain high-item-level equipment, and the second being collecting Allagan tomestones to purchase gear. The Zodiac Weapons do not have the restrictions of these two methods, but are designed to take a long time to complete.
225+900+13500+1500= 16125
Additionally: Post limits are, flat-out, completely idiotic. 1k char limit's stupid to begin with but 20 posts a day? Seriously? What the hell SE?

Your gear will have to be either Coil gear or Soldiery tome gear. Weapons would be either Coil weapon or Leviathan weapon.
But one of the main incentive to using class over job is the cross-class skills, which you will need to work on. Your ARC, PGL and LNC are all locked (and you can use PGL skills on WAR).
Until then, keep that soulstone on so you get your stats boost.

Who plays classes at level 50? I do, but only when I'm running around. I often run around with my archer instead of bard when I'm hunting for pelts or meats. In situations like this, there's no need to specialize. The job classes are designed with party play in mind while classes were designed for solo. Also I find that I can toss an occasional heal or raise if need be.
Have I seen anyone walk into endgame content or even hard content as a class. Nope. The reason why is that most battles and dungeons now have some sort of a special task for each job. DD's are required to burn mobs at some point. Having additional skills from jobs aide in mitigating more damage for tanks and healing for healers.
I have seen a GLD try to tank Darkhold; it was a heal fest and it was harder for him to hold hate not having shield oath. We won, but it took a bit more effort to control the balance of the party.

You're looking at classes wrong. A WAR is still a MRD but with more tanking skills. Ninja is still a Rogue but with ninjitsu learned from the Doman.

I ran into a Marauder for Ifrit HM at one point on my Paladin. After the initial surprise, he pretty much challenged me in regards to taking hate.
I didn't take him up on his offer because I usually OT Stun for Ifrit HM anyways, so it didn't matter who was tanking.
