The only aggro management is trying to pull aggro off tank after 2 rotations
The only aggro management is trying to pull aggro off tank after 2 rotations
If Quelling was a GDC skill yes...but as a BRD, you should know all about weaving oGDCs into your rotation, and that proper weaving is in no way a DPS loss (really, off the top of my head there is ONE oGDC that could cause slight DPS loss thanks to animation lock...Jump, which gets mitigated by Power Surge.)
Some people will use Quelling to keep aggro down in specific fights for mechanics (not necessarily adds), and some people just don't like seeing oGDCs not on cool-down, or maybe have muscle memory triggering it often. Some people also like to screw with others who try to judge them based on aggro...

Nope. You are. Like I said, the dev already granted permission for that kind of behaviour. Plus, the whole situation does not giving up positive attitude. Can just give critiqs instead of demeaning comments.^ This guy...is an idiot....
On a more realistic note, I would love to see SE implement a quest that you have to complete prior to being admitted access to coil 2. Something along the lines where you have to reach a minimum dps threshold based upon your jobs capabilities or properly time your heals/defensive cooldowns, before being allowed to even enter coil. I'm guessing 350-400 ish on a stationary target but that's just a guesstimate (since parcers are illegal and all we have no way of knowing the legitimacy of that value).
But I do agree on the later post that BLM can actually proc their dps. It's similar when I do that as BLM on Titan Ex. Very possible to give max performance despite the cannot-move-while-casting problem. OP just need more practice and it should be no problem later on.![]()

I save quelling for the deathdancers to help the tank snap aggro as sometimes he has a voice to manage as well, if your quelling has an impact on boss threat tables you just wasted your quelling before the part where aggro is actually difficult to handle. It's funny since so many of you just played the card of "well someone doesn't play their job right" while demonstrating how to waste CDs, and how to not effectively manage threat on T7.
What does Quelling have as cool-down...2 mins? (shows you how much I play BRD or BLM lol. Melee and SMN are just so much more fun) If you use Quelling in the beginning of the T7 boss fight, you won't have it back up in time for the first add (unless your DPS is really bad, which then you have no hope at beating the turn) So instead, you know the fight, and save it for them (though I would think add 2 or 3 would be a better time to use it rather than the very first one, since your OT has plenty of time to prep a good aggro hit for her). After that...using it or not doesn't matter in T7 (unless you really just *have* to use it when the last add spawns, which probably isn't necessary thanks to you nuking it with Final Heaven)I save quelling for the deathdancers to help the tank snap aggro as sometimes he has a voice to manage as well, if your quelling has an impact on boss threat tables you just wasted your quelling before the part where aggro is actually difficult to handle. This stuff always comes down to knowing the fight (which this whole discussion is based upon...that the person in question knows the fight and when they *must* use something. We're not assuming people in T7 are complete noobs at their job since its, well, Turn 7)...and as you're not at a point in a fight where you *must* have it (like mechanics or adds), Quelling being on cd or not does not matter (as long as you don't displace another oGDC, which generally would only happen on BRD).

I don't know how you could keep up considering blackmages maximum potential dps is quite a bit lower than even a typical combat dps of a melee class.Suck it up princess. You can DPS while standing behind the add, you can save procs, you can use swiftcast. I play BLM and while 2 shrieks will hurt my DPS I'd have no problem keeping up. Reporting people will get you nowhere, they won't get punished at all and you will still do bad dps unless rng lets you just sit there the whole fight.
That's the thing though our "maximum potential dps is quite a bit lower" but most dps don't come anywhere near their max potential dps, therefore it's still very possible to keep up or exceed other dps classes in pug's.

You keep up to your potential, which keeps up to the "typical" dps of any other class, not their potential. You greatly overestimate just how optimized your average pug melee is, if they are watching DPS tables an optimized BLM will not be getting shit for their DPS at all. The potential DPS of any job will pull weight, even if it's lower for BLM which is why hopefully the buffs address that, and not the people whining about movement because that's just wanting to kill the only thing about BLM play that actually has skill in it.
Good example is some moron on reddit not long ago claiming that any monk saying he can do 450+ DPS on t8 is lying, and 400+ is impossible without i110 weapon. This is how clueless people are about potentials.

Maybe just poor tactics. Only time our BLM ever moves is if they have shriek. Even if they have voice they just turn to side ride before it goes off between casts. And sometimes takes a step out and back in middle ring.
