I tried quoting the original post I'm questioning but it had too many characters...so...uh. Clavaat guy.

Does joining a FC mean I get my own house or does the FC have a house for everyone in it? I think I get crafting but I'm not sure which is better; gear from the Grand Company Seals things, or crafting random stuff from different jobs. Then again I'm confused about this game in general, I feel my ability to process the information about it is...difficult. I'm just confused. Also I don't really understand the difference between my class and my job...

I guess you're referring to main scenario quests sending you to dungeons and party-based duties. You can already use Duty Finder for those so you'll be automatically matched with random players or even Party Finder so players from your own server may join you for any given duty.

The Duty Finder? Yeeeah...I literally end up sitting there for 30 minutes waiting for other people, only to close it and start it up again. I can't remember what it was but there was something else that it wanted me to use the Duty Finder for, it wasn't a dungeon or something but it was in my recommendations. Still, point being, I have trouble finding people around my level. During the testing they were everywhere...but now I'll find fates at my level and there will only be...I dunno, 3 or 4 people my level? Oh yeah, and one Fate had a guy in the badass Lancer set...but that's it. Like I don't know if I'm just missing everybody or what but I'm just having trouble seeing other players.

It talks about abilities necessary for monk, and now I'm afraid without knowing what I'm doing I'm going to mess something up. So my question is...

Since I'm going to be a Monk, I'll be a level 30 Pugilist, and a level 15 Lancer. I remember someone before (think it was Clavaat guy), saying that I'd get skills from Lancer and Marauder as Cross Class Abilities for Monk, and a Pugilist can have 10 from any class. So I guess now I have 3 questions. If say I have an ability crossed over from a Gladiator class for my Pugilist, does that mean my Monk can't use them? And secondly, are there some must have skills or good ones I should cross over for both Pugilist and Monk? And once I become a Monk, what are the odds that I'll be switching between different classes, because from what I'm hearing Monk is just gonna be better.

This game doesn't allow you to really mess anything up too much, because very few decisions (and none of the important ones) are irreversible. The closest to "messing up" you can get is to waste some time earning something that you don't end up needing. But you'll still be free to continue on and earn what you do need or want when you change your mind as to what that is.

Monk can only bring in cross-class skills from Lancer and Marauder, not Gladiator. So for example, as Pugilist you can bring in the Convalescence skill (GLD level 10), but as Monk you can't.

To specify cross-class skills to be available on your current class/job, you go to the Actions & Traits window under the "Additional" heading. Below that, it's divided into classes you can pull skills from, and selecting a class there brings up skills from that class which you can cross-class into your current one. When you're a Pugilist, every combat class you've advanced enough to gain a crossable skill from will be available to select. When you're a Monk on the other hand, everything except Lancer and Marauder will be greyed out as non-selectable under that "Additional" section.

And once I become a Monk, what are the odds that I'll be switching between different classes, because from what I'm hearing Monk is just gonna be better.

Generally, jobs are better than the base classes they're derived from, so most people, once they've unlocked Monk, will use it rather than Pugilist from then on. (You're still able to switch back to Pugilist, but there's little reason to.)

You might still be switching classes for other reasons, for instance if you want to level lancer or marauder up a few levels further so your Monk can use their higher-level cross-class skills, or if you want to unlock additional jobs to have a wider range of roles you can perform in a group.

Your monk and pugilist will have different hotbar setups. So, you can give pugilist and monk each their own cross-class abilities you find useful for them.
