    Yeah, It did work as intended... but there was one fatal flaw about that and I saw it when Atma came out... Low levels weren't gaining enough exp because 1) The Fates were doing down quicker than you can say hello, and 2) New players don't have access to mount's so moving inbetween fates would be very slow compared to a lvl50. So in my opinion, the design for Atma/FATE was a very poor decision and should never be repeated again..!

    Only point 2 is relevant, as all members of a fate are the same level range.

    We all have to eke out max enmity, which means aoe, ranged pulls, whatever. Noone has a special advantage, unless you consider hotbar familiarity.

    No, not really. In boss FATEs, perhaps. In FATEs where you need to kill a lot of low-health trash mobs?

    Low-level Thaumaturge nightmare. Nightmare, I tell you.

    See where they pop, blizzard II.
    Hell, even simply smash with your weapon if you can't cast.

    obviously you dont know how pointless that idea is since there are fates that you cant use blz 2 in, and an auto attack will not generate any hate man, especially as a BLM

    If it were so cut and dry as kill specific fate boss, maybe get atma, it would ruin the point of trying to make dated content feel more alive. Not only this, but people would then bitch and moan about waiting around while they could be doing other things. It's my opinion that from a solo standpoint, the RNG grind is indeed brutal, but the population refuses to acknowledge a potential silver lining. As an MMO player for many years, I have grown to know and understand rngesus as a part of all our lives. Even when you believe you're in control, with your little static raid that's so well versed, RNG IS still there. Beat the grind by making it more tolerable for yourself. Funnel those seals into something fun or profitable, maybe even charitable. Talk to your fellow grinders. Make friends. It's fun. Don't let the rush to progress consume you. It's not.

    I don't know how much weight my opinion has here or not, but here goes;

    I finished my Gae Bolg Atma a while back, took me about 2 1/2-3 weeks of non stop fate grinding, if I was logged in, I was doing fates. Up until now, I had only done the minimum requirement of fates that was necessary for quests and such. I'm at 897 fates completed now, after ATMA grind and 6 completed Animus books. The atma grind was frustrating and tedious but I honestly see no reason to change it, I wasn't one of the "lucky ones" that completed it over night, but I was patient and it eventually paid off, Sure, I was more fortunate than some others, but I was also much less fortunate than some others as well. I think that increasing the drop rates isn't really the solution to the issue at all.

    I think the underlying problem, is how easy it was to get Zenith, I think most people expected something they could just throw a few tomes at and get right out the gate, and personally, I'm glad it's not the case for Atma, Animus, OR Novus. I like to see people out there, working towards something, I like to feel that I -accomplished- something once I get my shiney new weapon. I'm not a "hardcore" or "elitist" person or anything, if anything I'm about as "casual" as they come. This current system, though not perfect, works, in the end. I won't bother to say what could be done better, because honestly, I'm not a developer or programmer, I won't pretend to understand their jobs, nor do I know better than they do, as a player, all I want is incentive to leave my FC home and actually DO something, and this system does that.

    Really? I felt like it was quite the opposite. I don't get a sense of accomplishment for beating out an RNG system since none of my skills were put to use.

    It wasn't a trial of skill, but of determination and perseverance; patience, if you will. just because something isn't difficult skill wise, doesn't mean it can't be mentally trying. I overcame my frustration and desire to throw my controller and just quit, and got rewarded for it. YOU may not find that as accomplishing something, but I do, and am sure I'm not alone in that.
