They could put the icon next to the player portraits in the party member area. If you are the party leader then everyone could have an icon that you could see, if you are not, you can only see your own icon. Just a small little icon next to and attached to your portrait.

This way, it's not "dumbing down" the game as much (for those people who are saying it is), since it would only show that you had a certain level of aggro, not from what mob (assuming you are fighting multiple mobs). May or may not be a good idea, just thought i'd throw it out there.

It would help with "icon clutter" on enemy health bars though. Maybe.

hahah see how it is whenever this patch comes.

Wont be so much bad on fluxating hate or short battles, but like 10-15 min NM and tank holds hate, gunna be BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK

I think it depends on how it is implemented. I know everyone is probably thinking of some bright fast blinking seizure causing light. I think it will be more subtle then that. We will soon see.

    I sometimes find it funny people actually believe that ^^;

Its like a constant fear "Noooooooooo!, dont say that, he might go away for good ; ; shhh! shhh!". Players will do that regardless someone says it or not. I understand the tone of your post though.

On topic: To be honest, the stats not yet fixed, I would expect a complete usage of the icon by 1.19, for the moment it will give us time to get accustomed and see how much leeway we have with the color changing icon.

I'd like to think so, but if it's not at least very noticeable it shouldn't blink at all.

EDIT: Oh and I'd also like to think it's for people like myself who have red-green color blindness, since only Red blinks.

    ^ This x10000000000!

All it does is display informaiton. I've never seen a community cry so much about being shown vague information. Just because you have a vague idea of your enmity doesn't mean you know what to do with it. Good players will know how to raise/lower it accordingly and play well. Bad players will still just disregard it and screw it up. If you don't know how to raise/lower your enmity accordingly simply knowing the information will do NOTHING for you.

I've been saying this with every new information display. It doesn't make the game inherently easier, it just allows you to see a little more information.

I'm curious what self buffs will do, like Ferocity, Raging Strike, Profundity etc etc.

    Just my two cents.
Well I don't know, I suppose there's some excitement in pushing the limits. You see that red icon and think "How much can I get away with before it starts blinking?" I mean you never know how far is too far until you're already there. It's like a strange form of gambling lol.

I don't mind an aggro system indicator, but I'm concerned with too many color values and the blinking it's going to start making the UI look like an over dressed Christmas tree.

I'm going to pile both my thoughts from this quote. Why did they choose green as low level aggro when we also have a green indicator that's used to indicate a non aggro type mob? Maybe if they did yellow-orange-red instead of starting with green.

It's green? I thought it was brown .=.

Anyways it'll probably be a different shape. Like a DIAMOND.
