27 hours of 6 minute brayflox runs!
What I dislike is the way myth rewards are completely unbalanced at the moment.
Longer df dungeons should be rewarded more.
This grind could be done in multiple dungeons. Right now anything but brayflox is a waste of time.
I'm too tired of it to even get my full noct gear and I haven't even gotten to the book phase yet.
Dungeons like dzemael, haukke and amdapor are under used with the lack of rewards they give but when reaching the book state there should be a df buff added for that player that makes completing even the longer dungeons worth it.

There will always be one that everyone considers the best. They will run that one ad naseum. No matter what SE does, people will always choose one mission as THE mission, and it will be what people run until they decide it's SE's fault that they hate the game now. What I dislike is the way myth rewards are completely unbalanced at the moment.

Does that make balancing any less important though?
Max myth from the shortest dungeon?
It's not even that hard to tweak. You have a point to some extent but what I'm looking for is just options for the grind. Right now the balance is too skewed to only one loop so it doesn't just make the other places less than optimal. It makes them next to useless.
Haven't been doing this questline simply because I feel silly grinding 60+ hours of recycled contents and then the quest gets nerfed to oblivion when patch 2.3 hits.
12 Atma, 13500 myths, competing for 900 open world mob spawns, camping 27 specific FATEs, 27 old dungeons. Yay, shiny new weapon after 3 months of grindfest!
SE: Patch 2.3 is here, guys! And we've nerfed the zodiac questline so everyone gets their lv100 in a week!

It's only the shortest because people overgear and run it in a way to make it so. Halatali really isn't that much longer than Brayflox. The only thing that in fact does make it so is the fact after the first boss you have to stop every so often, but otherwise it's really not much slower.Does that make balancing any less important though?

Lost City is longer than the other two, and I do think it should be tweaked a little for it. But either way, there's not a lot SE can really do. Gamers will always try to find the easiest and quickest route to get from A to B. SE can try to make the dungeons equal each other until they're blue in the face, but there always be one that will be used to cheese it to end.
It would be really nice if everyone ran a variety of content, but that's not SE's fault that people don't, it's the community. Look at leveling up. Any individual has the choice to level up with whatever method they please. They're all pretty consistent. But then people found out how to cheese AV and DD, and then leveling up through those two became the popular ways to do it.
Either way, you have the choice to gather myth how you please. You don't have to run Bray HM, you can run Amdapor City, or Halatali HM, or just do roulettes daily and let it build up over time.
Well, this is pretty much FFXIV as a whole...
Good post. There is no reason to rush and SR Brayflox over and over. Here is how I do it. I have fun completing the various content the game has to offer and am rewarded in different ways but almost always with Myth. When I see I have enough myth I buy another book. Yeah I'm only on book 6 but I am also not burned out.
I might push myself to run 1 or 2 more things if I feel like it to put me over the cost of a book but I don't stress out about it.
What do you need that weapon for, anyway lol.

I'm really enjoying doing the books. I'm on my third book now and I work on each book with a friend. That way clearing monsters is fast and doing dungeons is fun. Leves finish extremely fast so the only painful part is the fates wait.
welcome into (MMO)Role Playing Grind
that is what all RPG were if you wanted to complete more than just the main story

Yep.
I've given up on the books, just passively collecting them when I eventually reach enough soldiery; only gotten 3 so far.
I was really excited and happy initially with the Atmas; I liked the fate farming. I understand people can be frustrated because of the RNG of things, but to me it was refreshing. I was out in the world, I was grouping with people, socializing, it was great; even the randomness of it all made it feel that much more rewarding.
The dungeon grind? Doesn't feel rewarding in the least bit. Instead it becomes a monotonous job that ultimately just made me give up faster than any thing having to do with fates. I could do fates for hours on end; 2 dungeons in and I just want to quit the game.
