Your comments and your opening posts clearly show that you are on one side of the argument (XP/SP loss). You're not doing anything constructive about finding a middle ground with comments you're just fanning fires.
This is not what these forums are for.
I agree with OP. There needs to be a stronger penalty for dying, that's for sure. And degradation of items doesn't seem like a proper punishment for dying.
Why wouldn't I pick a side of the argument? Would you rather I be ambiguous and try to please everyone? I made the thread as a way to gauge what other players' thoughts on it were and just voiced my own. Would you even say I was flamebaiting if we shared the same opinion? I posted my thoughts, and so have a whole handful of other players. Relax![]()
You are saying my ideas are afwul without any explenation. Even if I confront you, you will say nothing and now we get a well written posting with specific arguments and you are (again) attacking someone pretty harsh.
She is doing the exact opposide of what you are accusing here, whitch is btw the exact thing you are doing (attcking ppl without contributing to the topic)
@Nharil
Well wirtten!

I don't find that the game isn't fun because it lacks a death penalty. No, I find it isn't fun because it lacks content.
Adding a death penalty and other useless addons to prolong the "Oh, I guess SE is actually doing something to fix our game" thoughts isn't going to make the game any better. What SE should focus on is things that actually matter. The game should be played because it's fun - not because any minute we may die and have to start all over factor.
Do it.
I'm sorry but I don't have the energy to debate with you because I'll get more progress done talking to the wall. Thats how I feel after your last post. It's just filled with so much stupidity and flawed reasoning that I'm just shocked to be quite honest.You are saying my ideas are afwul without any explenation. Yeah it was that bad.
Definitely! I'd much rather have a slew of content and fixes in other areas before they even consider tackling the death penalty system -- In all honesty, it's pretty low on the totem pole of priorities, but it's still worthy of talking about. It's just a cog within a larger system built to make use enjoy the game on different levels -- some emotional, some not.I don't find that the game isn't fun because it lacks a death penalty. Strange. If youre that smart and I'm that stupid, it should be very easy and not very exhausting to show me how bad my postings are.I'm sorry but I don't have the energy to debate with you because I'll get more progress done talking to the wall. You have a real attitude issue...
Consider this to be the last posting I read from you.
skimmed pretty much almost everything Jabo said, but at least this got my attention
If an exp loss was implemented, we'd go back to the stigma of fear shadowing over us. People would point angry fingers and tanks/healers would be ostracized for making one critical error. We'd all assuredly be failing our leves waiting around for some nice Conjurer to come Raise us. Is that really the direction we want this game to take?
You're definitely a masochist.
Anyone who wants more punishment is a masochist. Personally, I don't like pain - it hurts - so I tend to avoid it. Most people who want to live past 20 do so. If I had to pick a poison, it would be a productive one with stimulative effects, not one that make you hurt (but it feels oh so good!) and suffer for no good reason.
Harsh penalties are counter-productive to moral, which is important to keep in a long term game. You keep getting shut down and demoralized your chances of continuing to play decrease. There's usually no triumph, no glory or lesson to be learned that couldn't be learned without a death penalty.
