Its called final fantasy not final ugly you know
But those are "fantasy" !!
I think the 3D model(in progress) looks oka~y...
When you look at JP design on the female antomy from FFxi, my godess! I think they go it right, though shiva and garuda had two different appeals to them but well figuered out, ya know?
(in any case, I hope they shrink down her waist on this model, she look too old and thick to be glamorous like a Queen of Ice.

I think you mean Bahamut, which also is way more intimidating than Death Wing ever was.
The kind of destruction he brought over Eorzea in mere seconds is more than Death Wing accomplished in years.
Death wing is all talk, Bahamut is brawns.
Well concidering she is the Queen of Ice not the princess make it seem okay, at last she has some butt which is a really lacking feature in FFXIV at last for the playable races. xD

Thank god they stopped screwing all the summons of the series by making them transformers. FFXIV's summons (Primals) are returning back to the classic medieval design. And I have to say we have one of the best looking summons in the whole series. This Shiva here is really awesome. She looks really ferocious and powerful. Levi was one of the best looking too. Ramuh also looks so nice and so powerful. I like all of them.
Primals/ feel like basic bishes that get slapped around in DF.... The only one who I feel is more "present" in the world; more tangible, relatable, not a total bish, is Gilgamesh who technically isn't a primal but still one of the big names, considering his history and various roles he had in previous FF games.
Just wish we could interact with them a bit more perhaps.... Either via a shrine dedicated to them or whatever. Once you finish the quest revolving around any primal they stay trapped in an instance and are harmless. Have zero direct effect on my existence or experience within the world. I don't fear their power.... We'll see how they do in frontlines, if primal summoning is still a "thing".
As for Shiva, she's pretty(ish) but I'm still not going "OMG new primal!!!"

I think it really fits the Ice Queen theme.
She's always cool and collected but that won't stop her wreaking havoc with just a single finger snip.
Also her Egi better be like the little princes minion lol
I always felt the primals were lacking personality and the story behind them they don't even feel threatening, I think they should have incorporated some big catastrophies into the storyline that the primals cause (bar bahamut). Like with the leviathan storyline you (spoilers) hear that he wiped out a settlement before with a tidal wave but why didn't they include a CG cinematic or something? And when you first see him he just floats away looking so stupid...
I guess what I'm saying is they don't feel threatening. The "threat" they pose is very "this might happen!" Opposed to "Garuda has appeared and has sent a big ass tornado towards Gridania!" Or something...
Shiva looks bad ass, but the storyline will still be "someone spotted a woman who looks like the primal Shiva! She might freeze us all! Go kill her!" While standing around in Coerthas talking to a random NPC....
