Fantaisia and name changes are coming. I Consider changes like that to be outside the games design itself (Like server transfers), so having a fee attached makes sense to me.
Things like gear makes more sense within the game world and should be included in the base fee. Things that give you a real advantage should be out of the question, but the retainer system's already got me raising a spikey brow.
