DQ got one since it's still going, FFXIII got one since it just came out, and FFXI/shantotto got one sine it's currently running and shantottos story isn't technically over. Ff1-ff13 (except 11) are now done, and so won't get an event.
Even so, we still have gear in the likes of the original Warriors of Light as others have said, so I don't think it would be a stretch to continue that trend in the next CT.
