Tanks marking past level 30 or so instead of just attacking whatever the dps are attacking.

Marking is a useful tool and it doesn't hinder anything at all. If, as a tank, you stop marking and DPS attack the other mob and draw aggro, then you are to blame, not the DPS. Being on the same mob as the tank usually works, but sometimes that tank has to switch to draw aggro on another mob. Marks keep people focused on one mob so the tank can switch without having people switch with him.

As a healer, having aggro issues is a problem. The marking helps to minimize aggro problems.

When black mages get sleep happy, two things happen: one, they waste their own time casting sleep, and two, they prevent warriors from using their own AOEs, which at lower levels is actually very significant damage. Combined, they make a dungeon take about twice as long as it should.

Other people have explained marking. So I won't get into that part. But it sounds like you are a problem as a dps and why marking needs to happen. As far as sleep though, you didn't say over using sleep you said.

There is a big difference between over using cc and using cc to better control the fight and help the party succeed.

Not sure what the complaint is... Medica II has a Regen attached, but high a MP cost. Medica has the same coverage, costs much, much less, but isn't nearly as potent.

Would you rather a healer NOT do everything they can to get everyone up fast and as least costly as they can? Or let my melee DPS go down since level 50 plus bosses have crazy fast AOEs that are a pain to dodge and just cure spam the Tank alone?

Hell, Cure III gets hit if everyone is clustered together enough. And regen. Regen everyone.

Going off of some of your strange complaints, can I add "getting stuck with this guy in a dungeon" to the list?

The complaint, which isn't a complaint because this isn't a complaint thread, is healers using medica II, then spamming medica to full health, and letting a good 20 seconds worth of medica II go to waste when the dps don't get hit again.

I'm not sure I like the implication that I haven't fought level 50 bosses.

That seems more circumstantial, but I understand that point. Its more fearing more oncoming attacks overpowering the Medica II regen, and if you're hammering Medica with only one or two people needing the heals, you are white maging wrong.

I never intended to imply you haven't fought lvl 50 stuff. I meant to empathize that melee have it extra rough with damage mitigation verses ranged at the highest levels. (has war flashbacks of turn 2 and mistral's ballad)
