You didn't start from 0. You have a base accuracy. And healers don't need to have 100% hit rate on mobs because they aren't spamming DPS. They just need to sink the occasional Aero II or Bio/Bio2/Mia

___________________________8 ACCURACY
Why did we gain a 5th stat? And why is it Accuracy?
They never EVER decided to put accuracy on our healing gear(as far as I know) until it showed up in the soldiery stuff and now our Animus. I understand Accuracy is a big requirement in end-game but I don't intend to stop healing to throw a little spell at that funky turn 9 boss.
Then ask for a nerf
Plus soldiery armor and high Allagan have acc too so it winds up being a lot more than 8 total from gear.
DRG literally has no skills that use MP so yeah there's no reason for a DRG to have piety.
WHM and SCH can actually contribute quite a bit of dps in endgame content and to do so for t6 - t9 you'd need the extra acc that's provided on the new equips.
So yeah, there is a need for the acc bonuses on healer gear no matter what the reason is for you choosing to ignore it.

Look at it less in the fact that they're giving you Accuracy because you "need" accuracy, and more of the fact that they're getting Accuracy because it signifies a "boost to your base level" and thus giving you a small stat increase in Accuracy to signify that. At least that's what it is to me.

Its more on par with giving BLM a small +MND boost. And if they did, and it didn't impact any meaningful other stats, I wouldn't complain in the slightest. Stop balking at your gift horse!
