Atma disappointment social help thread. For those with no luck.

1/12 Atmas

Water-Bearer:
My first Atma. Got it from failing the Fate. This was on 4/8/14 (my off day from work).

Crab:
Started about 9am and gave up at about 8pm on 4/9/14 (my off day from work) taking 10-minute breaks in between. No drop.

Maiden:
Went to Central Shroud the next morning. Been trying since 4/10/14. Since my server is dead when I get home, I spend four hours after work Thursday through Monday with no drop. Today is 5/25/14, and I still rest on 1/12 Atmas. Each day for the past few weeks, I even try swapping jobs between BRD, WHM, PLD, WAR.

WAR scares me, since I glamoured my Bravura with the Moogle Axe from Thornmarch, so I hope this isn't preventing me from getting it as WAR.

It's not preventing you, I got all my atmas while using a moogle book glamour on my zenith.

I don't remember how many fates it took me but I do remember I got my third atma around 400 fates, but that's mainly because the atma of the maiden was a pain, like 150 fates to get it.

A couple atmas took around 100 fates and like half of them under 50, the crab one took me literally 1 try.

I think it took me somewhere between 4000-6000+ fates to get all 9 atma weapons. Not entirely sure since I had no way to track it after getting the 3000 achievement but I think I got the 3000 achievement around the time I had about half the weapons completed.

This is the order.

#1. central shroud > maiden
#2. east thanalan > bull
#3. Low La noscea > fish
#4. western La Noscea > crab
#5. western thanalan > twin
#6. central thanalan > scales
#7. southern thanalan > scorpion
#8. east shroud > goat
#9. out. La noscea > lion
#10. upper la noscea > water bearer
#11. middle la noscea > ram
#12. north shroud > archer

Takes me two to three days, the hardest ones are outer La noscea and Upper La noscea the rest are easy, make sure you move fate to fate quickly I don't take breaks and usually don't use my chocobo companion only on hard ones that I need healing on. companion don't matter but that's how I do it.

Currently working on my 2nd Animus and was rolling along nicely. 6 days ago I got my 11th atma and only needed Scorpion from Southern Thanalan. Well, nearly 40k GC seals later and I still need that last atma.

Personally, if I get a Mirror first, I'll pass on Atma farming entirely.

I have 4 atma so far, started a month ago, and sitting at 1,603 fates completed. Mind you I've never fate grinded for levels and my only job above 15 is Monk.

I don't mind farming atma, I just wish days and weeks that pass didn't feel wasted with nothing to show from it.

Not farming Gil via straight grind and challenge log?
Not farming Chocobo Companion xp via straight grind and challenge log?
Not Spiritbonding? (further enhanced with the spiritbond draft via GC seals)
Not meeting new friends along the way?
Not improving skill rotations on less-used zeniths?
Not getting early drops for use in easy Beastmen daily quests?
Not occasionally getting atma?

Can do all those things on a level 1-49 job. Atma RNG qualifying is straight up garbage.
