Real world =/= Fantasy world. Also, in every action in game cut scene and in the intro movie for FFXIV, you are seeing a lot of death defying character jumping all over the place. You jump in fantasy driven games. Get over it, hon.

You're right, I don't think I've ever jumped to avoid a car or an attack from another person or animal. That's probably more to do with the fact that I'm not stupid enough to get myself in those situations in the first place.

But I regularly jump off the side of my porch, or when I go walking on trails, or when crossing small streams, or when exercising, or when there's a small obstacle in my way.

But hey man, if you think that just because you're unfit and boring in real life that you shouldn't be jumping, then you can continue not to use the jump feature when/if they put it in. Since, you know, you want to be so realistic with this game and want to emulate your life 100% in the game.

Uh, I've been a dancer for the best part of eight years of my life. I "jump" quite often when I exercise, because jumping is my exercise. Why the doubt of anybody else doing anything physical in real life? You are one of "those" people, I suppose? I'm pretty sure almost all people who argue against jump is not because they don't jump in real life. Get a clue.

I still doubt you jumping off porches as often as you claim. If I call every person in my cell phone, in my area code district and ask, "How many times did you jump today?" or this week, or this month, or this year, unless those people jump often because of a lap of mental stability, or because they are avid sports fans, or because they are avid outdoors people, or working out in some type of class at the gym, the resounding response would be "none," "I didn't jump today," "Don't call me," or a simple hang-up.

Unless you are going to bring a real argument to the table, why don't you spend more time playing the game to learn why jump isn't necessary or is. And assuming people are unfit just shows how immature you are. Why don't you stop being that "type" of person to always argue with people and, as said above, get a clue!

I don't think people who are against jump are necessarily fat. I'm poking fun at the people who insist that people don't jump around obstacles in real life, mostly because it's simply not true. But also because I also think bringing any sort of real life or realism argument in a game where you cast spells, fight giant dragons and insects, and has "Fantasy" in the name is a stupid, stupid counter argument.

I've posted my thoughts on why jumping should be (or should have been) included multiple times. It opens up a third dimension for your character to move in, and it opens up an entire world of combat mechanics and exploration options with it. It's one of those things that should have been in the game from the start. Of course the game has no need for it NOW, since, you know, the game has been built from the ground up with this feature lacking. But I think it adds enough to the game to warrant its implementation; the game is extremely light on content, they can easily design future content with jumping as an option.
