The mage one isn't the only set that got a level 1 release - the gladiator set got a level 1 release as Light Steel equipment. It's basically your standard Red Sonjaesque bikini armor. (Check out images of Loonh Gah from the Amalj'aa Beast Tribe quests to get an idea of what that looks like.) Unlike Taffeta, though, it doesn't dye well; only the bra straps and butt cover change color when you dye it. The metal parts stay shiny silver, no matter how you dye it.

For more pervy goodness, if your gf's avatar is a sufficiently high-level WHM you can look into Healer's Culottes and Cleric's Culottes which for who-knows-what reason look like white panties and a one-inch-long miniskirt when worn by females. Not exactly what I'd call holy garb. I've seen plenty of folks glamour these for the perv factor. <_<;;

I think the reason the WHM skirt is made that way is to prevent it interfering with the robe. When worn with clerics/healers robe it entirely covers the dress and legs anyway, making the ensemble much more modest.
