Essentially what's going to be going on is post-calamity, something has moved into the cave. It will probably open in 2.5 or so since they don't want to put to many dungeons in 1 region sequentially.

The other explanation is that right there in the same area, there was a passage at the old Camp Blood Shore going west that went to a small island where a lot of leves took place. One of those 2 areas are The Garlok's lair.

*edit* Upon further inspection, due to the accessibility changes of Wineport, I think that old island is now part of the jungle... The best explanation is that it is the former Cassiopia Hollow or it's one of the many caves that used to litter the area.

The Wandering Minstrel from 1.0 spoke of a few areas he's seen.

I can't recall them all, but one of them that stood out was a 'Floating Garden'. Which to me was very Tu'Lia in a sense, that's basically what that entire outer zone resembled, a massive garden, with waterfalls pouring down into the clouds beneath.

I'd love to see an entire floating continent (apparently some girl in Limsa mentions this, I just saw it on a forum elsewhere, but this was back in 2012, so likely that NPC is long gone) or a series of floating cities connected to each other and a central hub. Also similar to Tu'Lia, but each designated floating island opening up with a patch until you finally get to the central hub.

The Floating Gardens could be Nym. Have you been out in that area?

What about the archaeological dig that's just getting started, at the ruins of the Duskwight city near Quarrymill?

Given his dialogue in 1.0 that's unlikely.

Ne'er till land consumes sun can sea bear moons,Heavens spew crimson flame, hells seep black dooms.
I have walked the four corners of Hydaelyn, from the Gardens of Xarakish, to the floating lakes of Voor Sian Siran, but never in my travels have I encountered such a fell prophecy. One need not be an oracle to previse the great ill which casts a shadow across this forsaken realm.
Yet...perhaps there is still hope for Eorzea.
When I arrived in this land, I was beset with peril day and night─forced to endure countless trials which tested my mind, my body, and my faith. And I am not ashamed to admit that I would have faltered, had it not been for the help of a handful of nameless adventurers much like yourself. Honest men and women who proffered the hand of friendship to a weary soul and led him safe from the darkness.
Also important to note the "Floating Lakes of Voor Sian Sian" and "Gardens of Xarakish" are two different places it seems like the Wandering Minstrel was fresh and new to Eorzea back at the end of the Sixth Astral Era

    • Of course Abalethea's Spine, where the Native Warriors of the Hellguard make their home.

So far that's what I'd like to see, not counting Ala Mhigo and the surrounding Gyn Abania. Those will likely be added in the next expansion.
This. Dying to get back to my waterfall near Riversmeet.

Ah, yeah, thanks for clarifying that, my bad lol

To answer Lusavari - Yes, several times. It's a neat place to just observe, very...Avatar-ish.

The way those names are written, while I'm sure I'm pronouncing them incorrectly, makes me think that they both have a certain, Arabic type sound to them. Possibly locations we may see if/when they open up a Far Eastern type continent in the years to come.

Like many others I am waiting for Coerthas to finally open its gates.
And now that I have seen what that big bridge behind Griffin Crossing looks like I want that to open too :3

Sort of hoping for a Coerthas Lowlands, too.
I never played 1.0 but it sounds like Coerthas was beautiful, and maybe there is a bit of green left after all?

But there are multiple closed gates and collapsed paths/caves throughout the world that just beg to be opened up.

I'd love to know more about Thavnair and Radz-at-Han myself, especially since there's a lot of contradiction in the relevant item descriptions (which are basically all we have to go on).

May I ask what contradictions you've found, to see if we can correct it/get further information?

From my compilation thread, I had found a few errors on Thavnair (one suggesting it was a country with Radz-at-Han as the capital, others suggesting it being a City-state like Ul'dah in Thanalan). Before the last update, this information was rectified thanks to people helping me identify it and a post in the localisation forums, and a few item descriptions were changed. Radz-at-Han is a city state, with Thavnair being its territory, as per the city-states of Eorzea!
