Glamour is a double-edged sword, though. For everyone making a cool-looking set, there's five people who transform everything they wear into bikinis or the "omg you can see panties!" WHMshorts. I like the "jungle Amazon" set I made for my PLD, but there are often times I regret the glamour system...

And then there's the Roe-man on my server who wears a cone hat (sugarloaf, i think?), subligar, and then dyes everything coral pink. Yeeeargh....

So if I read this correctly, when you get the Glamour quest at 50 and complete it, that ability is unlocked for all the other classes too right? Or is this an character specific type thing like Chocobos?

It is unlocked for all other classes on a single character yes, much like your Grand Company Chocobo. If you wanted to do all of this on another character though...well, your current char=/=another.

It's not a double-edge sword when you put it this way because it gives people a good bit of freedom to do what they want...with a few restrictions, of course.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

All DoM gear looks terrible. Nothing I would ever want to wear in real life.
    Glamour does not help.
Luckily there was the Lightning event with the gear.

The glamour system is a bandaid over a shotgun wound. The game's clothing and armors simply suck.

Respectfully, I disagree. I think there are a lot of really good pieces of armor out there! Sure, there's a lot of generic designs at lower levels from vendors (But really, that just makes sense), but there are a bunch more out there that look really good! However, what I have found is most of the best-looking gear drops from specific dungeons. Sastasha,Tam-Tara Deepcroft, Copperbell Mines, Brayflox's Longstop, Dzemael Darkhold, Labyrinth of the Ancients, and all of the new dungeons since 2.1 have some really nice looking pieces of armor. Looking for a cool weapon? Stone Vigil seems to drop some of the classiest-looking weapons in the game, I think.

Also, with the 2.2 patch, crafters have gotten a lot of cool pieces to craft too, such as the dresses, the Sailor set, and others.

The game is still less then a year old, but I wager that, especially with Gold Saucer looming on the Horizon, we'll get a lot more interesting-looking sets as time goes on.

Personally I like a lot of the sets other people think are boring. They are realistic and based on actual things people would wear in battle. Starting at low levels you should have some very basic 'boring' looks and as you progress through the game and encounter more and more impressive designs you should be collecting pieces you like and using them to glamour over things you don't.

I would disagree with the whole 'have to be 50 to glamour' thing except that getting the first job to 50 is laughably easy.
