I just get irritated by ignorance. I congratulate someone for a level up in /say as I run through a camp or guild and they are too rude to say /thankyou.
Good manners cost nothing >.>

Remember, I'm not meaning these should be enforced. This would just be a guide to being polite. People will be rude no matter what you tell them to do, but maybe some will start being nicer if they realize that its more fun to be polite and have friends.

I'm not sure if you were agreeing with or diasgreeing but thats what Im saying. Some Xi players were nicer though, like no one in this game would stop to heal you if you were soloing and dying, but someone in XI would stop watch you, see how you're doing and throw a cure if they were appropriate class, maybe even /cheer if you won. But there were elitist assholes in xi, and there were people who were "ME ME ME ME" in xi, and those people switched over to XIV in the end, cause they couldn't handle not being the center of god damn attention lol.You know, I always had a problem when people said that FFXI's community was so much better.
It was built around the fact that people are vindictive, and that you're more or less stuck with your character and name throughout your playtime in Vana'diel. People simply weren't direct when they wanted to be douches. Party sucks and you want to leave? Unplug. Other HNM LS showed up? Spam some emotes, crowd around the spawn area, get a bot, try to make smallchat with their main claimer, cheer the monster on when he's kicking their ass, etc. Someone slighted you in an exp/merit/whatever party 2 months ago? Bar him from your group/LS. Someone barely mentions another MMO? Start freaking out calling them noobs/casuals/bads/whatever. Someone didn't play the flavor of the month/season DD class? Worthless player.
FFXI players were very petty and vindictive.

Nowadays, this kind of people need some guides for playing, some guides for learning their job, now they need some guides for being polite damn they should just buy a brain XD
It's not good to assist too much people we can see the result... (just my opinion btw)

Loki, you have a good point.

This has got to be a troll post.
1) No one cares if you're standing inside of someone else. That person who was giving you a nice crotch-shot is an idiot. It wasn't like he followed you and kept doing it. Ignore him and move on with your life.
2) Why would this matter? "Oh my God, your arm is TOUCHING MEEEEEE, EW EW EW DIGITAL COOTIES!" No.
3) You want me...to walk. Ever. Afraid I'm going to trip and fall or something? There's no player collision, what would walking achieve?
4) This is the one rule that should be followed.
5) I'm not going to /bow, but I will say {Hello!} in chat.
6) Translators are one of the best things FFXI/V has ever added to a game. I use it all the time; it's great for being lazy and not having to write out an entire area/quest.
I'm allergic to effort.
wow sorry but ur stuck up i would thought that was funny as hell
in ff11 with my taru i always tried to do funny emotes u could even make a taru suck off an elvaan or galka :P

I wasn't trying to be stuck up, I might even say hello to that guy the next time he is on. I don't expect others to follow these guidelines, but they can if they want to. I guess I'm just trying to quantify what the steps are to being a polite gamer.

RIP 2004-2008ish FFXI where people was nice and would help you without anything in return.Yesterday I had a rather disturbing encounter with another player. I was crafting at the blacksmith guild, when a guy walked up to me. He was standing inside of my anvil. It was annoying and it broke my consintration, but I didn't mind so i continued crafting. after four minutes of him standing their, he turned towards me and inched forward. So their i was kneeling while making brass rings, staring strait at his crotch!!!!!! I used rapid synth to scrap the brass rings, And got out of their.
Either he was being immature and taking screenshots, or he was just to stupid to realize wear he was standing.
That little incident made me realize that the lodestone is missing a very important page. In the section "Playing with Others" their should be the page called "How to be Polite". Hear are some guidelines I think should be included.
1 It is rude to stand inside another character.
2 It is best to stay one arm-length away from anyone else, except for in crowded places
such as Aetheryte Crystals, Guilds, and Levequest counters.
3 If you are in a crowded place please walk, and do not run.
4 Always be polite to other players even if they are rude to you.
That is the only good guidelines that came to mind. What else should be added?
Hear are ones suggested by other players.
5 if you are healed or helped, a polite /bow is a good way to be nice. Who knows, maybe they will become a great friend.
6 translate your text if some players don't understand your language.
