What do you guys think of people buying gil?

Uh, this has nothing to do with buying gil.
Rather this is a security issue, people falling for Phishing mechanics like the emails SE warns about, people using the same usernames and passwords on websites with inadequate security measures or RMT sites, not using a security token, etc. etc.

Buying gil does not magically make your character hackable.
And if you are stupid enough to hand out your login details to RMT you deserve it.

Honestly in THIS game... I don't care.

This might be a controversial opinion but I've played since 1.0 beta and have never ran out of gil in any meaningful way.
During the past 5 months all the gear I have bought is with tomes.

Gil is just there for very small stuff and housing is the big sink because it's the only one.

So is RMT annoying? Yes but RARELY so. I get about 0-1 tell per play session. Harmful? That I can't say with any certainty since the worth of gil in this game compared to many others is pretty small in every way.

I don't know anyone who has bought gil but "RMTs should die"? Really? In XIV ARR I think this "problem" is blown waaaaay out of proportion because people need to complain. Are they stealing your NMs? Hiking up the price of spells? Really people focus on more relevant issues.

The thing is it does make your account hackable since where do the RMTer's want you to go? to a virus filled site, why do you think theres so many accounts getting hacked, ok granted not all hacked accounts bought gil but you cant say 0 of them did. most of the people that are getting hacked dont use the keygen to help protected there account

The RMT spammers that occasionally have names that aren't SASDAS SADASS type stuff, those are hacked people.

Like if it's a real name, that's someone who's account got hacked by the RMT people for trying to use their site.

The people that don't get hacked can get banned. I know people that have gotten banned for that. It's a permanent ban too. Your account is basically locked and you never can get it back. This person I know that dealt with RMT, he called SE and begged, but they refused to give his banned account back.

Basically, don't do it. Don't ever buy from RMT. Unless you want to risk getting hacked or banned for life! :/

Why would you even want to? Gil is so so easy to get in this game. What is there to even buy? So easy to farm gear. It's like buying money in Hello Kitty Island Adventure!

I get like 2 the first minute I log in and then at least 10-15 an hour if I don't do dungeons

Uh, no.
RMT sites are quite clean, they can't have things like that on their sites, it is bad for business.
Most RMT sites aren't actually run by the RMT you meet in game, RMT sites are brokers, the middle man between the company that farms the gil and the client.

SE has always announced their monthly ban numbers, even back in xi. How do I feel abut gil buyers? In xi I felt like they were cheaters, paying to get ahead, an they really could get ahead. In this game, I feel bad for them lol. You would have to be pretty stupid to ever have to buy gil in this game. EVERYTHING is given to you for free sept for housing, an even that is affordable now, all wards are full on my server.
