I miss the buzz of Odin spawning. When he spawned it was a whole server effort getting him down before he K.O'd us all. Nowadays, people couldn't care less... so it would be nice to face him in a more controlled environment, an 8-man fight would be awesome.

I would love instanced Odin fight too lol. Most of the time zone is locked for me and I couldn't participate
    That is a good point.

So take away the only huge server wide battle we have? No thanks I'll have to pass. I want more open world content not take fights away from it....

The way the network code operates and the 2.5 sec global hinder how 'hard' you can make fights.

I've seen him once. He was tiny and very difficult to see under the massive amount of spell effects.

Being there from start to finish in a full party as an i84 War he died ridiculously fast and we all got bronze. I never took any damage, even not knowing how his abilities worked and he died in a little over 1 minute. We put out enough effort to get gold several times over in any normal boss fate.

He has become weak and very underwhelming for such a difficult to encounter boss. I have no desire to keep struggling to even get credit in his current implementation. An updated and fun fight does sound very good. Odin isn't supposed to be as easy as a level 15 boss fate for less reward.

Turn other players' spell effects to off or limited in the options.

I'd enjoy the Odin fight if it weren't laggy as fuck. I thought it might be a PS4 thing, but my FC members on PC said the same thing was happening to them. :\ I'd not be against it become a 24 man instance.

Edit: Thought I might add that this only happens with Odin. Behemoth, in my experiences, had more people in attendance and was fine. Same for Svara, etc. I've seen far more people at each fight and never had any sort of problems

Legionius is right, with the gear advancing well past what the original intentions were for Odin he has become trivial at best.

You sit in a lag fest of spell effects and for the most part have so many people attackign him all his mechanics are moot points. I was in a group a while back I was barely seeign anythgin but spell effects and his health dropped about 1% a second, or FASTER!

So he died fairly quickly and people basically left like "No big deal."

I'd actually like to see MORE world bosses like Odin and Behemoth. I just think SE needs to follow GW2's example and make such bosses on a slightly more frequent basis (say, roughly once every 3 hours or so) so that more people can participate in them depending on their schedules. Then, if certain rare items drop (such as the Odin Mantles or Behemoth Horns), you could only get one drop from that boss per day so that people couldn't farm it excessively.

Aside from that and the lag that people encounter (although it has gotten significantly better since launch), I feel that world bosses need to have more fight mechanics involved or utilize the environment in some way so it doesn't feel like everyone's zerging a big HP bar. Odin does a pretty good job of this; he has a bunch of large AOE's that inflict some nasty status effects. I think the huge desert area in Southern Thanalan would be a perfect place for a world boss, perhaps a massive sandworm that burrows in and out of the sand all over the zone and can jump out and devour people. People would have to climb on its back somehow (maybe jump off one of the tall sand dunes) and break its scales off before it could be damaged, something like that.

I would be okay with an instanced Odin battle, but at the same time, I feel that there is enough instanced content in the game already. I think SE needs to work more on making the actual world of Eorzea more lively and introduce FATE's that are more engaging for the player, where the outcomes actually have some sort of impact on the environment.
