    Jump can't be used strategically. How bout a Boss that slams into the ground creating a quake like effect where the ground is torn apart. A. you could jump to avoid a fissure or. B. you stand there and take huge damage.

    How bout fighting another boss. you do enough damage to him that he slumps down. A damage dealer could take a running start, jump, and slam their weapon into the bosses head.

    So why are we agains jumping? Sounds like you have no imaginations or no experience outside FFXI

    People need to lay off this logic -- Most MMOs with jump you can't do platforming or avoid attacks etc etc. Only A FEW MMOs actually put jump to use. You still get stuck in geometry with jumps in a lot of MMOs which means all it is is an animation and nothing more. You can jump up and over a boss but guess what? it will still hit you even while you're jumping.

    So people don't lack imagination or have limited MMO experience -- people with real MMO experience knows it has an actual use in very few MMOs. It really can't be used strategically unless they include it into battle mechanics.

    /huh people doubting jump: colision detection revamp is superficiAL, caplock sticky. invisible walls in xiv are called cliffs. get wit prog. jump is ff tradition, just keep it regular & we're good. addition > omission & ys? i forget, which button jumped? only played nes

    Who's to say they aren't adding it into the battle mechanics? Have you got information the rest of us don't know?

    The thread has been derailed into a jump vs no jump argument and i gave at least 2 ways on how they could add it. They could even steal ideas from SP games if they wanted to. Jumping can be fun, it can add strategy but all anyone is focused on is whether or not people are gonna be bunny hopping. Get over it. Play other games and see other ppls ideas on what makes games fun.

    I don't care whther they add it or not. I am not going to go to another game because they have or haven't added jump. But just like collision detection could add strategy, so could jump.

    my little bro and i were talking and he thinks game needs something like assassins creed. i wouldnt mind getting pushed around for the sake of awesome, how bout you? sorry its hard to just be all like 'ffxiv is leet for this, etcetcetc' if that were the case id be playing right now. i mean the game is good, but i can only grind behests so much before my eyeballs start to hurt & i begin wonddering what dimension my animations went to.. but im totally happy... seriously.

    =| jump should be ability like everything elsse... it just makes sense that way. need martial artist disciple. tumble jump dodge etc. think RPG! wow jump is blatant departure from RPG mechanic all around, probably why no1 likes iddea... sory im typing on stick keys & ps3 interface randomly ddeletes my entire paragraph, so dontcaremuch...HAPPY
