Major Lag Spikes After Every Patch And Uodate

I was having this problem yesterday. I couldn't dodge anything when normally I have no problems doing so. On my screen I was well away from attacks too. I downloaded WTFast to try today. Not tested it on anything yet but a quick run around Gridania with it before I logged out and it estimated a 48-50% increase in performance.

When I initially downloaded WTFast I was getting a 300-400% improvement. Lol.

I shouldn't have to use WTfast though.. its stupid that i have to sub for a game and sub for a service to play the game. Enough is enough. I love the game and I don't want to stop playing considering i just charged another 6 months to my account but come on.

Yeah as you and others have mentioned I should not have to download and pay for a ping service just to play FFXIV properly. But unfortunately the servers are in Canada and the US to Canada infrastructure is god awful so it causes issues like it was for me rubber banding ever 3 seconds.
Sadly nothing S.E. can do other than move the servers to US.

Except that's not the case for the most part. I've investigated into this issue when it happened to me and a lot of others. What ends up happening is certain ISPs are sending people's connections through faulty infrastructure which leads to a lot of lost packets. The effect is what people describe, everything pauses then rubberbands every few seconds.

Maybe change isp providers did wonders for me.

Why do I always want to slap people who bring this up as a 'solution'?

Oh yea I live in the US where ISP choice does not exist for large swaths of people.

Same my PT stop move for 20- 30 sec but I can still move but can't do any action and then everyone in my PT fast forward very bad lag and it not my ISP and no I shouldn't have to USE WTFast

Yeah it happened a couple times to me last night in low DF roulette. Doesn't seem to happen unless I am in a DF, have yet to experience it in fates or open world.

It's happening to me too lol whenever i go into DF. Rarely happens in open world now but every now and then i'd get a little rubberband when pulling a lot of mobs etc.
Every boss fight feels as scary as titan ex lol...
That moment when everything is going good then lag hits you hard like MB and then you realize that everyone including titan is frozen lol. Then after the delay you find yourself rocketed off the arena in mere seconds.
Idk y i keep playing during lag, i guess i just like this game too much to let it stop me Xc .
