    Issues with emnity during slugs phase. (T6)

    First than all, yes, I feel like a newbie as I ask this. Second, I had some issues to hold eminty with the slugs, because my healers always pull those adds as I flash (carefully) the said monsters. I say carefully because of the jellies. The way I do it is: when they spawn I use flash, then I stack with the group and keep flashing until acid rain. When acid rain occurs and having the slugs away, I keep flashing until the super slug appears. During that phase and prior to that phase, I usually lose aggro from one or both slugs. Any advice here?

    In my static I have a WHM and a SCH. It's usually the WHM the one pulling the slugs.

    If your other tank is a WAR I recommend just having them do it. If you are 2 PLDs I recommend not having your WHM or SCH use Medica2 or Whispering Dawn when slugs are about to spawn.

    Thanks for your response. Yes, we go PLD+WAR for all the battles. The thing is, will Holmgang be enough to hold the super slug? yes, we do that strat because our party lacks of gear for the burning method. I'm afraid the WHM is overhealing sometimes. Is there any mechanic that would make us wipe if the healers down their healing power during that phase? Besides the tank being beat by Raffly and me being crushed by the Slugs.

    As personal experience, its really NOT, wars get abused by super slugs. They only have one cooldown that can deal with the incoming damage and that's vengeance. Thrill of battle isn't going to do much. They are much better on raffle which does burst damage with swarm.

    As for what my group paladin does is he grabs those adds by flashing them then circle of scorn then have the dps after acid rain head straight to raffle and burn it for a while. What he does then is does enmity combo on all of them and dps one of them down low enough to go super, when he makes it go super he tells the dps to switch targets and burn the super slug he dpsed down with the lb what ever it is and what ever is left just dps. THen he kills the remaining slugs. You have plenty of time to get aggro because those 10 stacks of acid only stack so fast and its a lot of time. Then he mops up the new slugs when they appear and kites them around and after that its a easy victory.

    Wouldn't know. I imagine Vengeance/ToB/IB would be enough. I can't imagine PLD absolutely needs to HG for superslug.

    One potential mechanic could be the four way vine if both your healers are affected and unable to break free in a timely manner. Usually it seems to occur somewhere near a big beam attack.

    Wow, thanks a lot for the hints, guys. I have yet to learn the full battle, we always wipe in that phase, not because of me not holding aggro on the slugs, but people eating the Acid Rain. >.< I noticed that I usually lose aggro on them, that's why I was thinking that I was doing something wrong. I'll ask the healers to not make explode their heals during the pre-slug phase. Also, I'll post my feedback after our practice tonight, if there's anyone having the same issue here.

    If it helps, ask the white mage to safe his shroud of saints for that part.

    Also, if your groups is having problems with acid rain, you can try to get them to pre-run it.
    eg: run when the cast bar of acid rain is at 75%. The game will have already registered your position as to where to plant the acid rain puddle when you see the cast bar at 75%.

    To the OP:

    Let the warrior do the slugs.

    Here is how we did it on our first kill, I was a little nervous, messed up where I could have avoided a hit or two but in the end this worked out pretty well:

    5 Wrath Stacks, Steel Cyclone attack between the slugs when they spawn and another Overpower while running to your camp should be all you need to get emnity on all slugs.

    Better pop Thrill of Battle and Vengeance when the Slug grows as it hits HARD.. The rest depends on your DPS and Healers.. When you get another set of three slugs, Overpower them a few times and kite away until boss is dead..

    On the first set of slugs our WHM pulls aggro on a slug or two but we don't really care cause they don't hit that hard. He could shroud but it is no biggie. I just make sure I have aggro on the big slug because our monk is an aggro whore and I'll cover and get the lil slugs afterwards. For the second set I usually have no prob with keeping aggro on them, might ping pong a few times but again, no big deal :P Just keep cool and don't worry about it too much and tell your WHM to calm down if he/she gets annoyed slugs are hitting them
