    Crit Rate od PLDs?

Why does some armor offers this stat to PLD/WAR? Does it affects critical healing? Or any such reasons? Any explanation would help

Because developers dont want you stacking just parry.
And seeing second coil more dmg will help alot more.
Timing cd's right is the only mitigation needed.

Actually based on what I've seen damage output was more important in first coil than it is in second coil.

As to why gear has certain stats on it, well better to have more options when mixing and matching than less right? I have a my main tanking set, low accuracy set, and dps a set.

Crit stat on PLD is working the same way and other dps.

you would be surprise how many PLD (or WAR) that gearing toward CRIT/DET built rather than pure parry.

I'm goin for a mix CRIT &DET then PARRY myself

The question remains. How much Parry is enough? Which is the reason i started my PLD BiS "Widely Accepted vs. Crit Optimized" post.

It seems to be a very touchy issue. Some PLD's value every single point of parry and dont see any reason to sacrifice any in favor CRIT/DET.

While others seem to think that parry scales rather poorly especially to PLD's with Sheilds (Noct Hoplon).

I think having some definitive proof of how parry scales would put this argument to rest.

if you check out this thread,
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/156668-Parry...

it a long read but you can find the value of parry per point. (it less than 0.1% parry chance per point.)
it pretty good read on Parry vs CRIT/DET too

for me personally, I'm only use Buckler or Kite shiled. I'm avoiding Tower type shield at all cost. I feel like I'm relying too much on RNG and Bulwak which has 3 min CD. I have tank up to T8 using Levi shield never have any issue. (luckily my T8 first kill drop HA shield ;P)
