This one time, in DF Trial Roulette, got Thornmarch. Fight went ok until there was some confusion in the last half, and people start dropping left right and center. OT is kiting his guy plus now another one or two, I have my two, and we have one healer. No Lb3. Healer had just used SC. Keeping us healed, manages to raise one person after the other, me casting protect and SS each time, till we eventually clear it. No wipes. Was pretty cool

Small moment during a DF party for Turn 1. I was on DRG. The WHM gave us all Stoneskin before we pulled ADS. After the fight was over, the WHM looked us over and remarked that all Stoneskins minus the ones on the tanks were still intact. Nobody got hit by anything avoidable. Also, being on a job infamous for eating AoEs, I felt a little proud of myself too. :>

It was one of the most awesome DF Coil runs I ever had.

So many of those... Hm... Let's see the first one I come in mind...

    Oh, yes!...

Brayflox Hard, even if it wasn¡t exactly duty finder full because my dear friend healer and me joined... Then came a dragoon and a bard as DPS... We did it like often, like we are super sync to do, taking all the damn mobs there and going crazy!... For some reason I don't know the Bard died, when I noticed it, he was died...

Then he said "Please, do never do this again, we are not two BLM" and he left the party... That was awesome, I mean... DPS just left because misteriously died? After many many brayflox doing that, it was first time that happened. Well, we managed to kill the mobs only the DRG and me, then....And here comes the happy part...

DRG also left and two monks joined the party!.... I said "Oh, not two BLM but... Love it! Let's go! Two monks is my favorite set for Brayflox!" of course mocking of the comment of the guy before...

Ironically, we did the FASTER brayflox I have ever did with those super monks that really knew how to use super well their class, and while they were hitting like crazies, me and my healer friend were all time doing jokes about the "We are not BLM" and "This has to be with two BLM" etc.

We got a funny time there, felt inspired by the two monks, congratulated them, one of them even blushed because it was rare for her to see someone talking about she did a god job... We all got fun and after that I just decided to use my low level pugilist for fun, in honor to them, in another dungeon with my healer friend, version tank. (Or rather, ninja turtle version as she said)

There are more, maybe other day. I'm a player that uses too much duty finder and hardly ever fully premades.

This one time, in the duty roulette, I was running Tam Tara. At first everything looked good, the tank had some trouble getting aggro (I died at the first boss...) but this seems to be a common problem at lower levels, no bad feelings. Both DPS were quite new to the game (*see below), the mage was using most of the time Blizzard and an occasional Fire 2 when there was only 1 mob left but the SMN did his job well. Everything felt a bit chaotic but I like it that way.

We wiped at the final boss and everyone but the tank got back up. He didnt talk to us and after some minutes he left the party (no disconnection, I guess he wanted an afk kick but we didnt do him this favor). Running the full dungeon but then cancel on last boss is just sad and since there was a SMN we tried our luck, we wiped once but on the 2nd try we managed to clear it without tank

It was an awesome party, one of my best experiences with roulette so far. They even wanted to invite me to their FC, not knowing that roulette is cross server. If you come across a BLM/SMN pair on Phoenix form a party with them, they are great guys.

On a sidenote, although being new to the game they said something sad: "we are used to it" and "good tanks are rare"
This happend last week btw, I really hope guys like them will continue to play

This one time, in DF, tonight actually, did T1 just for the hell of it. Two new DPS and other new tank. Did a brief explanation of things, before each boss.

Made it successfully with no wipes. Was very cool

This one time in DF I cued up for Manor HM. I was not the only new person so we were learning the fights as we go. First two boss fights are no problem. 3rd we learned the mechanics of trial and error. While I wish I could say we cleared the dungeon, we did not. We persisted until the time expired getting better and better on the final boss each time. No one blamed anyone. We just learned from our mistakes and made changes. All four of us know the fight that much better and when we go our separate ways to clear the dungeon, we'll be that much more prepared. We all became better players through our failures.

Bringing this back to spread the positivity! I have 4 stories:

This one time, in Duty Finder, I was accompanying a FC friend to Haukke HM for the first time. The other DPS was new too and tank ended up explaining strat both in English for my friend and in German for the other DPS! I felt so bad I couldn't help him out but I was on PS3 and he was quicker than me in two languages than me in one. We wiped 4-5 times on the last boss becuase the DPS was slow - but I discovered a new mechanic where the boss would sacrifice one of us instead of the adds! Never saw that before xD The first time we were all shocked, but with 20 minutes on the clock we decided for one last try and we finally killed her!

This other time, in Duty Finder, I was accompanying the same FC friend plus another one to Copperbell HM for the first time. The tank we ended up with was new too, so this time I had to explain everything, keyboard or not. We didn't even wipe at the first boss, which I was worried about, and the rest of the run was actually pretty smooth! We did wipe A LOT on the last boss, and unfortunately I had friends waiting for me outside my house so I had to leave after a couple of tries, but I've been informed that they managed to beat it, so yay!

This other other time (which happened just a few minutes ago, actually), in Duty Finder, I was accompanying another FC member to Aurum Vale for the first time. It was the tank's first time as a WAR: we wiped 4 times at the first pull lol, he had troubles keeping hate and was undergeared, but when he asked us if we wanted him to leave we said no and we did so much better after that, we one-shotted the boss! It was incredibly satisfying watching us go from complete strangers to working as a team. And since I have names, I can thank them in person! So, Sieg Sinclair and J'qen Vydic, thank you for sticking until the end!

Aaaand this other other other time, in Duty Finder, happened the best thing ever. I was accompanying a FC member to Preatorium. It was his first time and he wanted to watch the cutscenes. I told him I'd stick with him and I'd try to ask the group to do the same, but we all know how people are in Prae... Half of them left immediately, another one left after a while, then a DPS joined and left again, but thankfully a tank and healer stayed with us from the beginning and a couple of other people from my FC and a LS I'm in joined in progress to help us out. I am so, so grateful that you stayed and helped a stranger out of kindess. And I have names for this one too! Except of the tank, because in one screenshot she had already left, and in the previous one she was interacting with a device. Talk about good timing :/ But I can thank Komumu Komu and Luna Lulane. You are the kind of people that make this game worth playing!

This is a noob story, but still one great memory of a DF run.

This one time in Duty Finder I was leveling ACN, and entered Halatali. The other DPS (who wasn't any higher level than me) happened to be ACN, too.

We kill the first batch of mobs, everything is going fine.
Suddenly, barely five minutes in, the tank and healer both leave the instance, without a single word, nor appearant reason.

ACN2 and I decide to wait a bit, without much hope of seeing a replacement (this was before the roulette). Meanwhile, we chat amiably to pass time.

Time is ticking, and seeing that nobody's coming, we decide to summon our Topazes and go on to kill what we could, before the clock settled the matter for us. Neither of us had much experience outside of standart 4 man team dungeons, so we didn't expect to go very far, but we both knew this specific dungeon already.

When the two of us reached the first boss, we stopped. We had never imagined downing a boss without at least 3 people, but seeing that nobody was coming, why not?
We were surprised by the ease with which we killed it. Then again, we thought, it had easy mechanics. There is no way we'll manage the second boss and its adds.

When we killed the second boss, without dying either, we where extasic. We started to think we could do the whole dungeon, imagine that!
Time was ticking, and we took much longer than we would usualy need. We went on to the last boss unsure of the result.

We finally killed the last boss, still without dying, just a few minutes before the timer ran out.

This is a noob story, but still one great memory of a DF run.
We experienced the thrill of what was a new challenge to us, one we had never thought to take.
We learned a lot about our class and our pets.
We had a great time in pleasant company, having met a fun and nice person in the process.

    EDIT:

Another one, though not as found a memory. Just to counter the idea that Duty Finder should be renamed Derp Finder.
Still old and noob-ish, but still:

This one time, in Duty Finder, I was running Qarn as DPS. I had done it before, and outleveled it a bit, but I just happened to enjoy it, so ran it through DF for fun.

I ended up with a full first timer team.
Not so surprising considering it wasn't a compulsory dungeon, and most people I knew at the time thought it was a nightmare. Nevertheless, I had never been the only experienced one on this dungeon.

All three first timers were calm, attentive, professional. I gave a short briefing before boss battles, but nothing more was needed.

I must admit I was prepared to wipe a few times, especially considering my own first time there even with an experienced team.

It ended up being one of the smoothest run I had there. Zero wipe, not even on the first boss. We ended up completing the dungeon in record time.

This one time, in Duty Finder, I went with a FC mate to kill Garuda for her quest.
I had done it as SCH before, though only a couple of times, and was playing DPS this time. The rest of the team was made of first-timers.

Not unsurprisingly, we wiped. Tried again, then wiped again. Adn again. And again...
But every time, we went a little further, Garuda's life a little lower.

No one quit. Step by step, we figured the fight out.

We ended up using al 90 minutes of the timer, and by that time, Garuda was very close to dead.

We didn't kill her on this run, but we learned a lot, had a good time, and left with no regrets.
