Why do new players receive death threats for enjoying the story?

I can say I have skipped every cut scene, story line or dungeon... Wanna know why? I don't care enough to read and see these characters make giggle noises. I get the jist of what's going on without having to sit through it, and there's No way I would ever think it's ok for me to slow anyone down. I feel bad when I screw up in dungeons, or if I'm new to one I announce it. Think of the other players, good lord. It's not about you!! I'm done with this thread, you guys are absurd.

This is why you should not be playing FF14, OP. It's not for players like you who love the story of the single player FF games. Its for this guy and his ilk. Tl;dr.

One of the problems, for me, is thst the cutscenes are bloody terrible. They're AWFUL. If there are 15-minute cutscenes in dungeons, as was mentioned earlier, then that's unbelievably bad design. I think the dungeon cutscenes should be no longer than 20 seconds long, no more than say 4 of them per dungeon, and unskippable.

I agree with you that wacgning them later out of context is a ridiculous suggestuon to someone who likes story.

Then this is not the game for you. Stop ruining the experience for everyone else. Stop being a hypocrite and expecting courtesy when you show none whatsoever. Clearly being a disabled veteran has made you selfish and bitter, and I expect better from the military. One would think common courtesy would have been taught, or did you skip that class?

Unfortunately your argument contradicts it's self. You are saying that all players who want to watch the cutscenes are wrong and all the players who don't are right.
You are saying that I am disrespectful because I don't play the game the same way you do, but you're doing exactly what you're accusing me of doing.
This is how wars start. You need to realize that neither of us is right or wrong, we just like different things and games should be suited for all of us.

Well, it's sad you won't read my post.

You "pay" for one account, to "play" the game and.. usually for Final Fantasy.. follow their awesome story. So hmm.. yes, for me, it's all about ME, the first time I see new stuff.

Then! I will put my needs aside, and helping everyone (even you if we come across a DF ) so that everyone can have a good time, the way they want it.

We can go with the majority, we can give tips "appropriately" to some, we need to "accept" them as well from others, if they are given in the same way.

As OP stated, its SE's Game that needs some "rework" - it's a constant thing, not a variable.

There will always be good and bad players, an in MMO games.. mixing it altogether. By no means we are entitled to bash someone for missing something important, or anything.

They give a set time to complete a dungeon/trial. You died? omg its the end of it, the game isn't fun.. I will be late for my next planned run into the same dungeon, I can't live anymore.. if only I was playing ALONE, this wouldn't have happened.. <-- see what I did here?

Guys, lets grow up a little, we don't (so bad) get ANY death penalty beyond a little minus for a minute or so..

You skip cutscenes, you don't bother getting into it in a Final Fantasy Game? So be it, it's your OWN choice. But other have their OWN as well.. everyone PAYS to play.
