    Suggestion: Please! Revert the FATE Exp changes and/or overhaul them.

    As most players have already indicated FATEs in general are kind of tedious and do not really provide much benefit any more, prior to the changes FFXIV ARR felt more like a community. There were always people in zones running together and looking to create FATE groups. It was a great way to create relationships with other players and FCs, to form stronger raid groups. However, now zones are bare and we are forced to queue dungeons as the only means to level with any significant results.

    I have been playing for MMOs for a long time and minus GuildWars 2 which has a similar implementation with open world events. This was one of the best mechanics about the game as you could grind for an entire day make real progress and get to know good people that were doing the same. Not to mention taking into consideration the long queue times for most people. Lastly, do I really even need to mention the horrible drop rates for Atma in FATEs.

    Funny, seems like this is only happening on the legacy servers/"high tier" servers. Whenever I get on, I can't go into any zone without there being at least 10 people running between FATEs.

    Iunno, I'm on Sargatanas and I grind fates to level alts pretty regularly. In most areas, you can tag along with Atma parties. I've been grouped up with a pretty sizeable number of players in Coerthas and Northern Thanalan on plenty of occasions, though. When I say sizeable, I mean enough people to clear notorious monster FATES like The Eyes Have It and Go, Go, Gorgimera, so it's more than just a few people leveling together.

    When I'm mining in Northern Thanalan, I'll shout if I see Dark Devices up and 9/10 times I see a huge pack of people run over that way. Sometimes I even get a thank-you shout in reply. o3o

    An option to incentivize FATE participation could be making each FATE contribute to something. An example would be each FATE completed in each zone (Thalaan, Limo Lisa, etc.) contribute to a global meter that spawns a zone specific World NM. That drops a variety of items. The item pool could contain the following at the minimum the following: MYTH mats, solidarity, gil, reputation tokens for beastmen tribe in that zone. And of course rarer items such as vanity items, mounts, and . The drop rate for vanity items, mounts, and tokens should be reasonably attainable... (if no vanity item or mount, then token).

    The token item depends on how dev wants to roll it out.... they could limit the exchange rate at 5:1 item, or 50:1, drop rate obviously needs to be adjusted to normalize the experience across the player base (to avoid this god awful ATMA design, I personally prefer the later).

    Given there are three main city states and the relevant toll area, there could be 4 world bosses that randomly spawns in one of the three zones within the area (Thalana, Lima Lisa, etc).

    Thoughts? I can't spell names.

    If you don't like it, plenty of other things to do for progression. Doesn't mean its a bad design.

    Fates themselves aren't a bad design, as long as they are kept as a separate entity from the main or relic quest lines. 'Plenty of other things to do for progression' isn't strictly true as you must fate grind for Atma and complete specific Fates for zodiac

    You aren't forced to get atma, other weapons are just as good or better. There are plenty of other options for progression.

    TBH.. this statement read like "you don't need to get bread, cakes are just as good or better" ^^;

    I love the idea. Hell, I love huge raid-party sized active bosses. I wish there would be raid-fates here and there.
