Just gonna throw this out there since it is the second time it has come up in design. Roughly 10% of people are partially color blind. Instead of assigning double resources on doing fixes it might be a good idea to either:

Try the color palates on content on a monochrome monitor, or
Look up Ishihara tests and compare the monochrome to color versions.

I know it is not quit the same, but it will demonstrate why subtle palette swaps cause issues, and hopefully save se some money and the player-base the hassle of pointing it out.

    Not even close to 10%
    more like 3 or 4%
    Also, to varying degrees.

People love making excuses for being bad though.

Pure attack post good job, anything constructive to add?
The exact % is besides the point, since se has already shown an active interest of correcting when an issue is reported regarding these kinds of impairments.
If you want to argue that point www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001997 "1 in 10 men have some form of color blindness". While that only accounts for half the population their primary target users still fall in the 8% range with an overall average still of 5% when you factor in women.

My post above does state "partially color blind", your reading comprehension is lacking.

Further the most common form of color blindness is Dueteranopia affecting ability to distinguish red and green.
Monitors use RGB (red green blue) color encoding it the dominant portion of consumer electronics.
To produce brown red yellow on a monitor the color combinations are primarily red and green, with a very disproportionate amount of blue incorporated into brown and orange. This can be verified in practically any art editing software. Meaning aside from a slight brightness difference they look identical.

Seeing as you probably will not comprehend the full post, through lack of empathy I am sure, here is something to think about. These new lcd traffic signals that we clearly have the technology to incorporate into a single light still have 3 apertures. I would love to see you have the same opinion when someone color blind in this fashion is coming the other direction and can't tell if the light is red or green.

Unless you have 8 colorblind people, have someone use marks. Don't be lazy. If the time it takes to mark a golem means win or lose for you, you can't win yet anyway

That's not the point. The point is the fight is somewhat unfair to those who are have color deficiencies and this problem should be addressed.

One of our tanks is colorblind. We often have to make adjustments on our strategy based on this. Things that on top of my head are a problem for him aside from T9:

    - Thornmarch Ex: When the BLM moogle casts meteor, he has a harder time looking for other markers.
    - T8: He can't be on mine duty because he can't see them easily.
    - The areas of coil with orange ground are a pain for him.
    - Orange markers in general. He actually had an easier time with the red ones.

Personally, I really don't think its fair that we should be changing our whole strategy because of SE's oversights, not is it fair for our fellow teammate to be excluded from certain parts of the fight because of it. Something as simple as adding a color slider for the default markings would go a long way into making his life easier. I mean, everything else in the game can be changed in color, except the aoe markings...

I only see in shades of black and white. Marking a golem certainly helps. At least the metors have differing icons to distinguish "red" from "orange". No need to call people lazy. Maybe you have normal color vision but perhaps not, but at least have some empathy for those that don't have "normal" color vision when it affects raid mechanics.

So I'm doing it "wrong" because all golems to me are black, white, shades of grey and I'm forced to wait until someone marks a number? I would love to trade my color vision (or lack thereof) with yours so you can tell me how to do it right without waitng on assistance. I'm looking forward to an distinctive indicator, just as like the coments have.

What on earth does the glowing have to do with the color of the golems?
I was talking about the dragons in the end, which clearly is misunderstood by the colorblind.

For the golems. Yes someone else could easily mark it for you, but I also highly doubt that they are equally the same shades of gray to a true monochromac. Which also makes me think you are just trolling, since about 1 in a 30,000? people are, do we really have to cater to 1 in a 30,000 people? seriously?

What about people who are mentally challenged, do we have to nerf all content so they can do it? Autism? far more common, please make this game autism friendly.
