Archer/Bard LB

I hit 16 on my archer and decided to do my first roulette. During the final fight our tank ended up dying and because the healer didn't raise him I ended up being the tank. Being a squishy archer I was kiting him all while asking our lancer to LB while I took a few hits and after he wouldn't LB even after being asked I did it myself only do discover I have the healer version instead of the meteors.

So my question is why do archers and I assume bards have the healer LB instead of the DPS one? We are considered a DD class and job right?

Technically they are DPS but really they are more a support class once they hit Bard, so I guess that's why they chose to give them a healer LB.

Plus if they were given their own class specific one it would make it a bit imbalanced as they would be the only class to have a unique one.

Wouldn't they just get meteors like BLM and I'm assuming summoner? I know my Monk and DRG both get clouds sword for ours

Thank you for adding so much to this discussion. I'm still relatively "new" to the game and being a monk have always been the one to LB so not having the meteors was news to me

They've pointed out they're new. Maybe they aren't familiar with the functions used on the forums yet? Plus the search function is hardly perfect.

You could have simply posted links to them with advice to search in future before making a thread. Instead you acted like a massive tool to someone just looking for a bit of help.

Once more : Bards are support job, thus have support LB.

Them being Qed as dps has nothing to do with it. If you want to ask something, ask SE to create more support jobs and a real support role.

It is a support job and it kind of makes sense. Archer/bard is technically dps but we already have multiple other jobs that can do dps LB, but if your one or two healers go down its nice to have someone else who can use it to heal/revive everyone else.

A little silly for a dps to have it, but if they wanted to balance it out on who could do what LB archer/bard makes the most sense (before 30 only one class gets the healer LB). Of course, since bard seems to be one of the most played classes..it turns out to be pretty often in dungeons there's nobody who can do a dps LB
