I can understand your want for larger groups in endgame to get to know and play with more of your fc but end game isn't all there is that enable you to do this.
I am an officer of a progression FC. I however don't raid and am fairly casual toward this game. Yet I play with many members of the FC including the core raiders and our casual members. The reason I was chosen was because I am someone who likes to make fun events for all to enjoy casual and hardcore, core raiders and non raiders. Like we had a dungeon gauntlet recently with Gil prizes where you teamed up with people to see how far you could get in the time limit only using gear aquired through the dungeons. We have had an FC group event for making money to buy a house. We have a foot race coming up. We do Levi and EX modes randomly throughout the week coil 1-5 farming myth and soldiery farming. The systems in place don't limit you playing with and getting to know the rest of your FC the players themselves do that. If they need a carrot on the end of the stick to be social with you they probably aren't worth being social with period.
As for comparing this to FFXI I would suggest looking at it now rather than remembering what it was. Salvage is a solo endeavor dynamis to limbus sea sky all solo. Nyzul ? Solo. They recently made a new system for content that scales mobs because no one wanted large group content in that game anymore. So even the most recent full alliance stuff is now 6 man content.
Don't get me wrong I am all for new events and everything but saying that is what it is or that only the best rewards should come from it (yes you said slightly higher stats and item levels despite saying side grades) that doesn't make it an option that makes it mandatory. Maybe requesting something like the scaling system from FFXI or WoW's flex system would be more acceptable but even then large groups are not as popular as they once were regardless of what Game you look at. How about starting small and asking them to actually let you build a 24 man party.

That'd be an enormous design change and it absolutely would not work unless future tiers were made with 2 difficulties in mind, a 24 man and an 8 man. And even then, unless they drop the same loot, you're going to have problems and alienation.
If it did happen, it'd be an expansion feature, and I very, very much doubt it will. You almost never go 'up' in raid sizes; Doing so will destroy many FCs who struggle to front one static and would only promote poaching as more players funnel into 1-2 larger FCs who can support it. The effect on the community would be rather disastrous.
I'm not disagreeing with you but what you suggest shifts the game towards being more non-causal and that's not what FFXIV is catering to. If large raid content is introduce, it will be like CT which doesn't require a good fc.
24 Man content is excessive for my tastes.
Im sure Primal Fights, Boss Fights for 16 people could be really Fun, specially for end game Free Companies.
16 man Content DF.
2 Tanks only. Yeah two tanks is more than enough.
4 Healers.
10 DPS
Speaking a little about the stats in ARR....
The main Stats and secondary stats in this game are Horrible, if you do the Math in most of cases, you will Laugh.. because the miminal increase in perfomance you get -_-.
A Good way for have a little more variation in the play styles could be...
50 Stats points
STR 1 Point = 1 Attack power and 1 Determination
VIT 1 Point = 1 Defense & 1 Magic Defense
DEX 1 point = 1 Ra Attack power and 1 Determination
INT 1 point = 1 Attack magic potency and 1 Determination
Plety 1 point = 15 HP/MP

24 man content shouldn't be top tier for the following reasons.
1. Its hard to find 23 other people with the same schedule and skilled enough to play at top tier.
2. Most people do not even know 23 other people in the game.
3. More loot drama then with a smaller group.
4. Constantly have to be recruiting because people leave
5. Much harder to organize
6. lag?

I actually think this would be a good thing...Having a FC for 8 people is kind of stupid and pointless imo, but then again everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I personally would love to see some 16 or 24 man content that is top tier content. I don't think everyone should be able to clear the best content in the game. SE does a good job at nerfing old content when new content is released so that those who aren't good enough can clear it. It would be something as simple as 8 man version and 24 man version with 24 man version dropping slightly better gear. If you clearing the dungeon for story purposes you don't need/deserve the best gear.
Personally, while I'd welcome more large group content, I much prefer the smaller group size be the top tier, mainly because the fights can be tuned much much tighter than the larger group ones, as larger group content generally has to take into account a much larger player error margin.
I want 24 main raids for my FC. Let us queue as 24 member party, please.
