So tell the party? I don't hear you communicating with your party in any circumstance. I accidentally traded all my bard dl accessories in for seals, the next time I ran I would ask the party if they mind passing them as i'm actually using them. Also I actually have had only 3 person who needed gear they didn't need, that isn't the new i70 gear as we all know a lot of these pieces are awesome vanity. and I've farmed over 28k seals since 2.2 so it sounds like your having awful luck.

So no, it's not just 1 guy's item because the drop happens to match his class, the whole group worked for it, and it's utterly disrespectful to other players to deny them fair chance at things they can actually put to use JUST out of selfish petty greed. Come on if there's a piece of gear that dropped and I wanted it for glamour or retainer or collection, I do have the rights to roll for it. Even if I'm just rolling to treade in for seals, it's still my need and rights. Your needs and mine are different and they are equal. If you want to prioritize loots, do it in PF or your own FC mates or whatever, but not in DF (you can politely ask thou).

If not, should I run my roulettes in "trash gear", just barely meeting the ilvl requirement and maybe everyone do so, so that we can say hey we are using trash gear, I absolutely need the drops? I hope you're not one of those that got rouletted into Haukke Manor HM/Pharos Sirus and quit or complains when you see one or both of the DPS are decked in AF/i55 gear thou. Because by your logic it's just gonna be a sad day if everyone starts to wear trash to justify a "need" to roll on dungeon drops.

Simple fix if the devs really wanted to fix the issue would be to disable the need option if your current equipped piece in that slot at the time of the gear entering the loot pool is of a higher ilvl.

Simple solution, if there is something you need, play the corresponding class and "need" for it...

I´am happy of it, seeing insane amounts of loot just rot in the dungeon because it´s of no worth before 2.2, now there is at least some payoff...
I wouldn´t know where to get my Company Marks elsewhere, cause FATE grinding is not my favored way... (ATMA made me circle around every FATE since I finished)

But for me - I usually pass when someone claims that he needs it for the twink class,...

Tbh I even play cheap sometimes lol in bray HM 2 boss speed runs, i just wait till the end after the final boss to start rolling on items. Usually by then ppl will just quit and leave for next run, all that loot will then "automatically" be placed into my inventory ♪（ｖ＾＿＾）ｖ
Idc who you are especially if ypu are a dps lol, i heal you and dps; therefore i have a right to role on non healer gear ( if just running the instance wasn't enough already ) 2,500 seals = 4k gil or so imo, sooooooo gil is gil and more gil is welcomed in my wallet!

Or
I "want" it to meet my "needs"

So imo i like to make needs and wants to go hand in hand.

I may be missing something, but it seems to me like you are arguing against a position the OP didn't take. He's objecting to people Needing loot they have literally zero use for, where "use" includes things like glamour and trading for seals. See his example below:

The most egregious example was a CT run earlier.

Guy has a HQ i90 crafted belt. The i80 belt drops. He Needs.
- The belt is unsellable
- The belt is not Convertible to materia
- The belt cannot be used for Glamours
- The belt cannot be traded for GC Seals that I know of
- He didn't say he needed it for retainer
- He obviously wasn't using it, as it was strictly inferior to what he was wearing

He literally Needed ONLY for the sake of Needing, and outright said as much.
