Sounds like you have a bad FC then. There is no point.
In my exp there is one person in the fc who wants to use it as their own personal housing. They don't want to let anyone else move anything, do anything, change anything or touch the house in any way they don't want you to, yet they expect everyone to pay for and contribute to the house and use fc funds to pay for furniture immediately after an update when its at its most expensive.
FC housing means really nothing but bragging rights and a way to entice potential members. Total waste of time and money.
XI: Zeroblade, Titan Server
Plot 6 in Mist is simply the best. Direct access to the docks, thereby you have ownership of said dock. Time to start charging boat fees. Our plot (30, Mist) is right next to a market board and is a stone's throw from the shore where there's a few vendors selling a few items that no other vendors sell. We have a beautiful Leviathan water feature in the garden (now with added glow), a delivery box that jingles a simplified version of the Moggle Mog chorus when you have a mail and ample foliage and pretty lights to make our yard attractive to onlookers and residents alike. The views from our plot are, in this humble homeowner's opinion, second to none in all of Mist. Our gardening patches are an excellent source of money for those with priveleges to plant and pick.
Inside our luxuriously decorated estate we have a summoning bell, two vendors, a mender and ample room to sit down, relax, talk, chill out or craft. We have a wide variety of plush, novelty and trophy furnishings to make our company home really feel like a hall of gathering for our members.
Despite all this, only 6/41 of my FC ever hang out at the house. Even with the above plus the drastically lower load times in Mist than a city people just don't care. Why? Because housing gives no tangible reward to anyone except those that can garden. Even then, that is temporary until the market is inevitably flooded by the few items that make money. I really like our house. I paid for 80% of the cost and decorated it myself. It pains me to say that because the majority of people in this game are so end game orientated they simply don't have time to appreciate what's good about housing. "It doesn't give me anything!", "What do I get from it?", "It's not my house anyway!" are just a handful of some of the phrases I've heard.
It depends on your attitude and goals in this game whether housing gives you anything.
My FC of 5 active players afforded a Medium. Albeit this is on Malboro, so it was only 13 million, but still, it's not "that" bad.Really? Last time I've checked a few days ago on numerous servers there is still huge amount of unsold plots everywhere. Those FC who could afford it bougth them months ago, those who couldn't merged to some large ones to do so and that's about it. Do not expect some new large FCs suddenly to stem out and buy out all the plots out there. All fairly new and any curent small FC will struggle for years to save for at least medium (or preferably large) plots ... All those lies and empty promisses by Yoshi about "re-evaluating" the house prices are just showing how much SE does(n't) care about us
My only issue with FC housing has been that we as an FC did not get to choose as a whole where our plot or what we would be getting was going to be in the end. So the leaders (two of them not even all of them) choose a spot and a small house because they panic because at the time that was the last spot in the Mist. But that is more of an FC issue than a common one for most people. I get the idea behind having one, because we do have meetings occasionally and hang out with friends there. I personally love it because its a quiet place for me to craft, sell, and hang out with a few people. In the end I am more excited about personal housing and I hope the rumor about having a joint house with someone is true. But that is something I will have to wait on for a long while.

Sounds like you are in a pretty crappy FC. Mine isn't like that at all. In fact, I feel like the leaders are a spot TOO generous when it comes to sharing with members and offering themselves up. Between the two of them they have all crafts to 50 and all overmelds so they pretty much make bank. And they shower every new member with gear sets and help with their individual crafting. The other day the leader basically told me to keep the proceeds from the last batch in the garden, but I'm not comfortable with that so I put it in the bank anyway.
The system isn't *broken* per se, but I agree some people definitely are. Personal housing should have come before Company housing for this reason. There's not enough personal stuff in the game and far too much is centered on the *group* aspect. XI was like this in the beginning as well.
Sounds like a horrible FC..There is no point.

Housing is great. Personally, our FC had been saving for a long time, mainly due to just being a few key contributors. After several long time members left (some joining their static's FC, somepeople felt left out, etc) and a few other key members mentioning they might move on if we didn't get a house soon - we buckled down and raised 10 million in 2 weeks, and got a medium house. Everyone has become more involved with running as groups, we are always hanging out at the house doing silly things and such, it really turned our FC around in a positive direction.
That's one of the intangible benefits of FC housing, may or may not apply to everyone. That aside, it is super awesome having menders and vendors in the house, MB and summoning bell a few steps away. A nice, and (mostly) quite place to craft or do whatever you want. Just kind of your own little space.
Large houses are definitely cool, but medium is just fine. Don't get a small if you have more than 5-10 people.
On the Aegis server, All lots in all 3 zones are filled including each ward.. Only a 4 Mansion slots are free. but thats like after combing through every ward in all 3 zones.
Ain't no one got time for 11ty million gills for that!
i want a FC house![]()
We with wife afforded duo on balmung 16m :P (sorry for off tipoic)
FC house is really just fine add-on for FC's , with house up ppl's no need run here & there for get rid of items , for summon retainer and other stuff (Even market board stands near our house)
As for house modelling , prmit's set by FC leaders .
needles to say if you new member most likely you will able to use only common things in house (as summon bell & mender etc) , all this goes from common sence and gil wasted sence (some furnitures cost mills and i doubdt FC leader or permitted leaders will want that someone destroy accidently this furniture) .
Verdict :
- FC Housing is personal housing for FC leaders (in cases if only leader or few leaders did all effort)
- FC housing is just fine add-on for FC members (since no need any movement outside house at all , all u need is already inside lol)
To a non fc player it doesn't seem that important based on these replies.
Especially when it comes to actual gameplay.
I see no point in the convenience of mb and vendors when you have that and so much more in each town.
