i find there isnt a problem with xiv seeing as they bring out new content quite regularly. if u notice in wow on the other hand u would of noticed they havent had any new content in 8 or 9 months.

Well for me Lore and story are two different things in a way. While WoW did have a lot of lore that told you facts and history of the world it's story for your character wasn't nearly as good if you ask me. Infact I didn't care about my character and what was going on at all. Not to mention thanks to 1.0 and the fact this is FF there is a lot of lore if you look for it in this game.
While it's not the best for FF, for an MMO personal story I find it to be better than most MMO's out there.I personally think this story is the worst of all Final Fantasy games. I'm not saying is downright bad...but it's pretty...well not that good.
It's either that or just simply not my cup of tea, y'know? I dunno, I'm not liking the story much but I do like the crafting and class/job story quests.
I also wish my character could friggin' talk or have more options. GW2 spoiled me with having options.
Would love if my mom or brother dad anyone.. or whatever was apart of the calamity and stuff and I finally found the grave or something and did something amazing before it all. Just something that ties me into the world and have a past than some random cat chick adventurer of light whatever. I feel like an errand woman lol.
They even stated [NPC's] that they are sorry for taking you go on random quests so often.
That's very true, I never felt part of the story in WoW, ever. It always felt like I was sitting front row to an epic, but that's it. In XIV, while I do feel like I'm part of the story, I also feel confused. Sometimes I'm a super powered godlike being....now I need to go fetch some pies for some dude....other times I'm a silent robot that never receives back up for the people I'm helping. Im not sure how I'm suppose to view my character.Well for me Lore and story are two different things in a way. i
I think that it's fine. the only real complaint i have is about the market.
i could write you a book about everything that is wrong with world of warcraft, but i'm pretty pleased with the direction of FFXIV
there's no pvp in this game so your complaint is totally irrelevantNo it was flying, The ability to choose what fought you took so much outta the game. It made ganking just... ugh. Before if you wanted to gank some low level players, you risked them calling in their guild or a high level player of their own. Now... well you could still call in your guild, but they are just going to sit there on their flying mount and wait for every one to go away. Ruined open world PVP for me. 100% ruined it for me.
Wow vanilla was one of the biggest if not the biggest world ever released in an mmo. So yea, even on launch it had more content.
Anyway, an improvement i would love to see is the fluency of the whole thing.
I know this is a very vague answer but i recently restarted my wow subscription and it just feels better to walk and fight there.
I wouldn't necessarily call myself a veteran, but I did play WoW for years. I also played FFXI for years -- and much more time than I ever did WoW. I can see how WoW led the way for the 'modern' MMO; WoW has become more and more supportive of casual play while also giving a lot of content for hardcore players to become occupied with (you can now do supereasy versions of the raids, or really really difficult ones -- the choice is yours). FFXIV is still a young game, so the content right now is a bit lacking for hardcore players because they've really done it all. As this game becomes older, there will be a lot more content released, and much less 'tweaking' of the game. The addition of a ready check, for example, is something I really wanted and was happy to see added. I'm glad SE incorporated a PF, and the DF system is good but needs work.
One thing I do not like, specifically, about WoW... people who played WoW may recall this: there is a mod called "Deadly Boss Mods." It basically makes any boss 'easy mode' in that game. It tells you exactly what to do in any part of a boss fight. Have a bad debuff? The mod will put up huge text on your screen telling you to run away from the group, and it will even give you an audio clip telling you to "Run away, little girl, run away..." If you have a CHOICE regarding whether or not you want to use this, fine, but many raid leaders back when I last raided seriously (WotLK) would check to see if you had it. DBM had a functionality within it for raid leaders to see who in the raid was running DBM, and even what VERSION they were running. Most mods are supported by Blizzard unless they enable you to cheat in some way, so many players used it. I personally thought having things spoonfed to you made fights too easy, and I enjoy the fact that FFXIV has a lot of mechanics that you really just need to understand.
However... there ARE mods to tell you what is coming and when for FFXIV. These mods are NOT endorsed by SE, and if you are caught using (or even admitting you have used) them, you can get into serious trouble. There are some people who use these mods, but it's not as rampant as DBM were in WoW because SE isn't okay with them. I hope SE never, ever accepts any mods like this because I don't want raid groups to turn into what I saw in WoW. At the same time, there is something about FFXIV that frustrates me just a little bit... almost every fight has a predictable rotation. I literally just memorize the rotation (I guess my mind is good at that) and then I'm a master of the fight. That's it. There's really no reaction time for me. It's just knowing what's coming next.
I want fights with less predictability and more randomness... not unfair randomness (there would need to be some failsafe stopping unfair combinations to occur), but just... something different. As far as raiding, I feel SE did a good job about making fights difficult enough to keep people satisfied. I can't really say I'm a fan of the echo buff, but I knew going into the first coil that SE would eventually make the fights more accessible to other players (because it's a huge part of the storyline)... I just wasn't sure how.
i would say .. wow work hard in balancing in way that mess up the gameplay ... but here in ffxiv thanks god they didnt do it yet. i dont want like to play on my DRG one way .. all sudden next patch i need to change X y z to do damage.
that what kill my wow interest.
Is this week of the trolls or something?
