I like to consider the Skeles in Bone Dragon, Ping Pong... it gets very ugly on that fight and then there's Thanatos... DPS not killing Sandmans or adds... then there's KB which I've seen many a wipe in. And Archeon... don't know why, but our giant liked to run away to kill a group...

A nice CT horror story to tell by a campfire would be a run where you don't wipe on everything and everyone is actually being nice to each other.

It happens every blue moon when the stars and planets align and the sky turns green and pigs fly.

It was a late evening, it 2 o'clock and I entered DF alone, I felt brave that night... Queue eventually popped and I went in... EVERYONE in my party (tanks included) had sub4k HP. I said "hello, nice to meet you" and then everyone in the whole alliance replied "Hi, nice to meet you! Our first time in here" I checked the gear on everyone, and they were decked out in AF gear and WRONG Sol accs to increase their iLvl above the limit for entering. I felt something eeire about this situation but I went on. I like helping new people after all.

We did the first room, but in the middle of it I saw how the tank in the chat said "Lunavi, Arma tua, sicut infernum ardet" I asked "what language you speak?" He replied "Tibi fieri will've emergat rursus noob". I shaked it off and we went on. Stuff was going surpricingly well even though their armour was bad. Sure, I had to work alot harder than usuall due to that I did not have the luxary to ignore some mechnics when I explained stuff. Everyone was a pure one hit wonder. We wiped a half dozen of times, but I was dedicated to carry these noobs through this instance.

All went fine until we met King Behemoth. After the fight started the people ran out so I was locked in there alone with King Behemoth, then he used a new move I had never seen before... It was called "Hellfire". When he used it as the bar progressed (it was slow) the durability of my gear decreased, once it hit 0 though something new happened, the gear broke as in disappeared. Then the attack hitted me for 666,666,666,666,666,666 damage and I died, when I rezzed though I rezzed back in Ul'dah. I was level one again. The tank whispered me: "Who is the noob now you ??????". I cried, all my days and nights of farming gone.

So remember kids: Never ever do CT during midnight!



Ohh, you wanted a REAL happening? Oh well, the early part of the story about the AF dudes... That has actually happened once o.O They started with their accs so they had sooo little health... :/ They were also not as competent at this game as my above story made it sound. Undergeared and underskilled raiders led to more than one partywipe if I say so.

I already know its going to be a horror story when someone in the raid mentions CT bingo. But my CT horror story would be the time I went into CT with my friend.(BRD.) There was two healers (of course the usual group setup ^.~) that felt the tanks were so under geared they refused to heal them. Then people in group wouldn't kick these healers so we died MANY many times. On the last boss it was hell because on platforms they would get to their spot but when IG spawned they wouldn't heal tanks so of course it went apeshit and killed everyone.

After we wiped I got so fed up that I went into shout and brought the attention to both raid teams who were talking smack and calling us shit the whole time, unaware of the true bullshit that was brewing in our own group. We were mostly dead on every fight I honestly don't know how we got past Atomo but yeah...

Anyways someone from group A called our healers babies, and told them to get their shit together, but low and behold come IG phase, they didn't lift a finger. However The Raid reacted as if they anticipated these douches and it was amazing. The other two groups came down towards us in swarms. (we were in B so it looked awesome.) The cavalry of godliness that came to help us win.

We won and I was able to be free of it without leaving and having a 30 minute death timer but wow = wow that was the worst CT ever, but the best ending to it.

Not sure how that is "horror", and i've seen it quite often actually.

One i was sure was going to fail, i joined an in progress (as dps because it just speeds it up), and i see 50 minutes or so and they are on Atmos. I worry we won't even finish, but it seemed almost the whole raid was new, and not great geared. A wipe on KB, but beat the whole thing with less than nine minutes left. No one raged at anyone, and everyone was helpful. I now laugh at the people who say "Finally" after a pretty smooth run with maybe a wipe or two.

2 weeks ago, one of my retainers found me a pair of Vanya Slippers of Fiery Goodness (or some such). Since I was trying to get my DRG retainer out of the 100% spiritbonded Darksteel gear from 2.0 anyway, as well as ALWAYS needing myth, I decided on a clever plan. I'd make a full set of Vanya for the BLM and spiritbond it in CT - while rolling for DRG gear and getting 100 myth a pop in the process.

Anyone who's been in CT lately can guess how well it worked out.

Que times of 60 min +. Joining in progress leading to dead raids. Trolls as far as the eye can see. A shocking amount of people going through for the first time (which was the best case scenario by far). I ran CT when it came out, every week, when I was gearing a Bard in the "pimp gear". I thought it was bad then. But this... this is a whole new circle in Dante's hell.

I never did win any DRG gear. After being reduced to a fetal position weeping in the middle of the floor after a day of this, I ended up spiritbonding the gear though Brayflox runs. I knew my "clever" plan wouldn't go smoothly, but... never again.

I joined a group last night for the heck of it, and when I got in both the tanks for my group were spiritbonding their crappy hq crafted gear. They both had around 4500 health as Paladins, and I was a scholar with about 4900 health. And then when they went into a fight they'd get one-shot and the other groups were blaming me for letting them die when there was nothing I could have done in the first place. Eventually I was just spamming medica II to keep hate on the monsters so they wouldn't kill the DPS and just healed myself through the damage.

I mean, I don't mind that everyone isn't a pro player, and that some people aren't the best -- variety is what comes with playing an online game. But the partyfinder isn't your personal spiritbond party, if that is your intention than please make a party where it's mutually accepted among everyone.
