sch has low heals? we mitigate damage

so i start this because people keeps telling me that my healing is low, because the parse say it or something like that, and that i use too much mp.

But Im a damage mitigator dont I? I use a lot of adlo, I micro manage my pet, I dont really care about mp because, well, u know why, we can restore it from 0 to 3k am I doing something wrong? or people just dont understand that im not a Healer at all?

what is your opinion? should i leave my fc because they are telling me this? should i just explain to them?

SCH are preventative healers, yes. But that does not mean spamming Adlo constantly and wasting MP.

You will mostly use Physic to heal, using Adlo before a big hit to mitigate the damage, or when you have to not heal the tank for a heal or two (Rezing, DPS took a hit, you took a hit, movement, Fairy got nuked...)

Good SCH, assuming no rezes, will likely have over half mana entire fights (not counting Coil2 right now); I know I've healed Levi EX and T5 with good groups and had over half mana the entire time (again, good groups, no deaths and the like. Rezzing IS a mana-sink after all)

Also, what are they saying your HPS is low in comparison to? WHM or other SCH? If they are doing that right, and saying you're low compared to other SCH, maybe you should team up with a good SCH and ask them to help you out.

^ agreed. I think the only problem I can see from your post is spamming adlo. there's a time and place for it and going from a decent/good SCH to a great SCH requires knowing when to use it. but then again, if you're keeping everyone alive who cares if your HPS is considered by some to be low?

I jump on that train, I dont care if my healer has low HPS, if he keeps me/us up the whole fight, i´m satisfied with him...

While I can't speak for your numbers and don't know how you play in actuality, I can tell you that scholars don't have low heals - or active healing. WHMs can occasionally have inflated HPS due to excessive AOE-healing (whether warranted or not), but SCHs can also play that game via excessive Succoring and what have you. All of these instances show up on a parser, though, with the overhealed % in the mix, too (Galvanize is taken into HPS-calculations).

Apart from that, I would guess it's the usual case of FATE-academy graduates and other non-healers speaking out of their asses, not knowing how the shielding works (and thus your numbers appearing smaller per heal, with the active healing being double the amount). The fact scholars have smaller potency heals on the paper doesn't mean anything, as both Adloquium and Succor have the active healing of the Galvanize in there too. Unless you're doing something completely wrong, there should be no issues here.

What people don't understand is that there's 2 healers for a party. Typically it's a WHM and a SCH. In my eyes, as long as a SCH is mitigating damage, they're playing Healer right. WHM should be the massive bulk of HP restoration, it'd be no surprise to me if a SCH didn't match the HPS of a WHM, mostly because HPS doesn't count Aldo shields. Honestly I hate SCH that spam physick more then Aldo. All it does is makes me over cure and waste more MP then if I was doing the majority of the heals and all SCH was doing was mitigating damage

If people are dying, you are probably doing it wrong. If no one is dying then I don't see what the issue is.

I typically consider it my responsibility to keep the tank topped and buffed when possible, and usually leave spot healing to the fairy and white mage. Outside of that, numerics are hardly an issue considering that lustrate offers a flat heal based on the target's hp. Also, being parsed doesn't make sense for healers. There are times when healers have different responsibilities, such as raid healing or tank healing, and times where the correct move is not to heal right away. It would seem pretty rare that both healers should be nuking constantly for the duration of a fight. If the other healer isn't struggling to pick up slack and people aren't dying , I see no reason why you would be doing something wrong. Usually, knowing what's up in battle is much better than having the stronger cure bomb.

Why does having a high HPS matter in the first place? We aren't like DD's trying to heal as fast as the GCD allows because look at it like this, having a really high HPS usually means somebody is overhealing by a significant amount which I consider to be far more problematic. Also if they are critiquing your HPS by comparing it to a WHM, that's even worse. Not only do WHM's have stronger heals they have access to both a single-target HoT and a team-wide one which they can combo with Divine Seal. This alone will dramatically inflate their HPS regardless since they tick faster than the GCD. Also I'm not familiar with parsers but do they properly figure in the fairy heals?

Also 'using too much mana' is pretty ambiguous. If you're spamming adlo to the point where you're going near oom or worse, before the previous galvanize wears off, then those are legitimate problems. However if you are simply being liberal with your shields without taxing yourself then you are fine. SCH's can afford to be inefficient with their mana pool thanks to Aetherflow plus the guaranteed 50% mitigation and safety it provides trumps physick spam while saving adlo for just the big hits, atleast in my experience.
