Vote kick abuse needs be cracked down upon

Just did a Brayflox HM through duty roulette and got a group that demanded that I speed run them and when I didn't want to because I didn't feel that the group composition was capable of doing it smoothly (DRG, SMN), they stopped healing and DPSing to let me die to the pull I had made. Then after I re-spawned they vote kicked me.

Why you ask? Look at the amount of people here fighting with you now.


SE already has stated multiple times they do not take Vote-Kick abuse lightly. If you reported, wait for a response from a GM (if needed) and that is that. There is no need to start a sh*t storm on the forums.

That being said, you probably could have at least entertained the party and tried a speed run. If it failed, then you could go at your pace. But they're definitely wrong for acting the way they did.

Anyone can speedrun Bray HM, I go on drg all the time and can sometimes do more dps than brd. Don't tell a pt you cant do something because of PT makeup, I would have kicked as well.

That would have been against the Vote Kick guide lines.

You're right, I shouldn't have started a thread on the forums but I was so disappointed with the way that these people had acted that I wanted to get it off my chest and see what other people thought. Truthfully, I did not believe that there would be this much arguing and disagreement.

Did you ever answer why you were unwilling to even try to speed run with them?

Thank you but I know what DRG can do, it used to be my main before patch 2.2. My reason why I didn't want to try is because I did not feel DRG AoE was strong enough. The first pull in a Brayflox HM SR can be very close in some cases, even in a group with two BLM from my experience. That and just clearing normally up to the first boss the difference is only a minute or so if damage is good.

If you were really a DRG main you'd know your AoE is fine, and is actually better than a BRD's.

I used to speed-run WP all the time as a DRG, and we never had problems. Even used a WAR before they were buffed.

Also, if you're having trouble on Bray HM pulling everything before that second Couerl with 2 BLM...you either have bad BLM, or you're not as good a tank as you think you are (cause honestly, even an OK healer is fine, esp SCH, as long as you avoid AoEs). Then again, when I speed-tank Bray...I'm a WAR. Which are definitely superior to PLD in speed-runs now.

except this isnt abuse of the vote kick system, if anything IT IS WORKING AS INTENDED.the party wanted to speedrun thru the dungeon and you snarly commented that it "cant do a speedrun without blm" (which is totally false as ALL CLASSES in this game can sufficiently SR brayflox HM as its that easy especially drg and smn as they both put out amazing aoe dps) and the party decided to kicks as you were the only one harassing the party,by refusing to at least to budge and try to see if it is possible and making rude comments.

in a brayflox hm speedrun, the only person who really has the right to decisively "veto" a SR is the healer because he or she is the one that has to heal the part and apparently the healer was ok with the speedrun as he or she let you die and assisted in the vote kick. this thread only further show the ego that tanks have in this game (thinking that their rules is automatically everyone rules). i just had a similar issue in a dungeon where that tank refused to listen and kept causing wipes in cutter cry and we vote kicked him out and got a new one.just because there is a shortage on tanks doesnt mean you cant be replaced.

It almost happened to me before, was in Cutters for the 2nd time at all and 1st time on my healer (and informed the group before about it), had trouble with Chimera's mechanics and we wiped 2 times, then the SMN left. The tank then told me he had also started a vote to kick me but everyone else refused.

I got into a new party after that and had 0 problems (and 0 wipes) because that people took the time to explain properly what to do and where to be.



"refused to listen"? maybe you are just so pro that you cant explain it to "dump" players? Maybe your tank was a total moron but that is no reason to abuse-kick someone! You and everyone else who voted clearly did the abuse and IMHO needs to be punished!
