    FFXIV economy and gear

Anyone else thinks that making gear bind to the player like WOW does for quality, rare and epic gear would be a good thing for FFXIV's economy?

I can't help to think that being able to buy a gear set, wear it and then sell it back over and over can only hurt the economy. If the gear binds to you then players have no choice but craft that set over and over again or go and farm it and that can only stimulate the in-game economy.

I'm not saying this should apply to every single piece of gear but only to rare and quality stuff. Common, cross/race/class gear can still be sold.

Eh, I liked it better when the rare drops in FFXI were able to be sold.

But that's bad for the economy. And i don't mind rare drops being sold as long as you dont equip it. It should bind when equipped. If not, you would spend hours getting that gear set while someone just bought it with gil like it was nothing....

The materia system is going to help get rid of gear from circulation.
