There is a simple solution to this.

Have a "no cut scenes" option to click in DF but your rewards are 20% lower since you aren't willing to help new players.
That way if you are hell bent on speed running the zone you can with others who want to speed run it. Your queue time will be longer cause the DF won't have the "newb" player pool to draw from.
I wish I had been able to watch the CSs on my first run through the zones. I would have gladly suffered a longer queue time.

I feel like it's just a courtesy from the new person to watch the cinematics later in the inn. No need to waste 7 people's time for your own selfish wants when there is a clear alternative way to watch it on your own time.
When I was new with the groups and running my story, I made sure to skip all the cinematics and figured I could just go back and watch them later, without 7 other people breathing down my neck.
Not to mention that it's easy to get lost or disconnected from the group if you watch cutscenes, and I was also the healer so I kinda needed to be with the group.

For the most part, you can legitimately argue both sides. There really isn't a good solution at the moment and I don't think there will be one that someone doesn't find a way to abuse. I rarely hear about this outside main scenario DR though, and I always wonder why people choose to do a long-a$$ dungeon like that simply for a bonus that, in my mind, isn't worth it. Just my opinion.

There are 2 possible solutions I can think about:

    Solution 1:
SE delete current story dungeons and make solo versions of them.

    Solution 2:
SE keep the dungeons the same but split them to fractions where each fraction counts as a trial on DF, and is made up of 1 start cs, 1 end cs.

Do people really not understand that watching them in your inn ruins the experience?
I opted for that option and wish I hadn't.

There was no context for why you were suddenly in a fight, you were just there.

Well... The thing is, people always say that it's "(common) courtesy from the new person to watch the cinematics at the inn", because they would inconvenience 7 other people in the group.

What i wonder is, why is it never the other way around? Why do people snare at you when you politely ask them to wait for everyone to get ready? Didn't we all watch the cinematics when the 2.0 was just released? Why would it be different for the players who are new to the game right now? Aren't they "entitled" to run a dungeon at their own pace and watch the cinematics along the way? As experienced players, we should be respectful to new players and show courtesy towards them for trying to enjoy the game as we did "back in the day".

There are always 2 sides to a story, 2 sides to a coin. 1 side does not "rule" over the other. We both share the same world, so why not give everyone the same degree of courtesy and respect?

The cutscenes shouldn't be a part of the duty finder at all. They should play before you queue for the instance, and after it is over, but never on someone else's time in a random dungeon matcher. They had a great idea in putting the storyline as an intro to doing content in the duty finder - but they should have anticipated that people would get tired of waiting for the umpteenth person to finish their cutscene at the start of a dungeon and every other boss. I believe everyone should be able to experience and enjoy the storyline. I just don't necessarily believe it should be on someone else's time.

Except that for every 1 person who is watching a cutscene, there is another person who has already given that 'courtesy and respect' 9999999 times already to the 999999 OTHER 1 persons watching the same cutscene.

Guess what happens then? That person who saw the cutscene now starts to get irritated as he has to stand around for a full 5 minutes of nothing the next time he gets matched into that dungeon, and the cycle starts all over again.

Best answer - long cinematics outside the instance, and maybe a very short panorama of the boss and arena before the end boss at the MOST.

I think the courtesy you are looking for comes from the vets who were noob once, and enjoyed that content, in real time. Not the opposite. Get off your unicorn. (pun intended )

When I was in that dungeon the first time, it felt like I was part of the story. INNs are for DADs who want to tell a tale to their kids before they go to sleep.

If you feel lost, it's cause of the 7 others that doesn't know what the words patience and kindness are.

There is only 1 time to give a good first impression.

Sucks to wait for some, true.

*best is for those who are getting to that story to ask their FC mates. Problem solved.

Problem comes from those who solo content, make no friends FC LS whatever. (And it's still not a problem ^^ )

If you want to play solo, fine by me; you just got the wrong type of game.

or make them unskippable. Or those who cleared the content once, get a new instance made for them.

I think the best solution is the one already implemented in another well known MMO around: cutscene skipped only if everyone skips that. Or everyone will see the cutscene.

That's how most multiplayer games are if I hit skip cutscene it pops up on everyone screen if all agree we skip if one says no we all watch. That is the only solution I see is fair for all involved. A vote skip should be in game I mean we have vote kick and vote abandon. So why not?
