So one person got kicked because they were ruining the run for the majority of the rest of the party? Sounds like the kick feature is working as intended to me.

Exactly how was they ruining the run for the rest of the party? They was kicked for being afk but in fact they where watching story cutscenes in the dungeon. Last I checked watching cutscenes isn't against tos and a built-in mechanic.

Meh. Anytime you see a story like this you have to wonder if its the full truth or not. Maybe it is but what would be the point of kicking someone near the end for no reason other than watching cutscenes if they didnt kick that person earlier. Ive had this in roulette where people intentionally stay in the cutscenes to hide the fact they are really AFK. There are several cutscenes where you have to click through the dialogue otherwise you can stay in the cutscene forever. Or saying they want to watch the cutscenes knowing they will get left behind and can afk for easy tomes.
Ok i am really sick of responses like these.
the guy was NEW...how was he ruining it for everyone else? they ran the easiest 8man dungeon like a billion times.
. if youre trying to clear the dungeon as fast as hell because your child is about to graduate or perform his first play in school, you really need to work on priorities in your life. what is the serious purpose of rushing?
STOP HARASSING PEOPLE WHO WANT TO WATCH CUTSCENCES.
it's a shame. i think what should happen is, whoever is new the CS cant be skippable.
or you guys can suck it up let ppl watch them...or dont evr run prae and cm again just to be on the safe side.
whichever you pick, deal with it. :/
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...812-02-2013%29You seem to simply (or purposely) forget the principle of the Roulette.
Roulette was added to the game so one newcomer without a group would quickly find other players with who to play the dungeon he needs to complete
By helping newcomers complete their dungeon, the veterans earn a bonus reward.
So much for that argument

It supported rather exactly that misuse of the vote dismiss feature is considered harassment and therefore punishable, which supports my stance rather perfectly. Perhaps you were confused because your head is too deeply lodged in your third point of contact?
You don't have the right to decide that somebody else is "wrong" for playing the game the way it was intended to be experienced. Ejecting someone from content for playing that content the way it was intended to be experienced is not "working as intended". There are far, far better places to speedrun for rewards if that is what you want to do. The cutscenes are part of the dungeon and skipping them is optional. You do not have the privilege to make that decision for others.

Except that the story quest is needed only to be ran once to progress, while running multiple times to get tomes is almost necessary to progress in content. It is easier to form up a story group for a one time event for newbies, where it is impossible to form groups for roulettes whom all agree to skip the cutscenes.
Also it would be really easy to troll people who want to skip the content. What if I claimed that i really enjoyed the cutscenes and wanted to watch them again and again even though I saw it once already? I could hold up the whole group for literally no reason while I go and make popcorn (but they don't know that) during every cutscene. And no one would be able to argue about it.
Except the Main Scenario dungeons can easily be 5-7 manned. 1 person watching cutscenes does not negatively effect the party in the dungeon. Also it would be really easy to troll people who want to skip the content. I can't begin to imagine the overwhelming negative mindset and personality you possess. You want to hold people up to your personal standards? Form your own group via Party Finder. You joined a random group where anyone, including those leveling and new to the instance, can join. You don't get to decide, or for that matter the group, if those joining should watch the cut-scenes or not. That isn't your call, though I am sorry you feel that it is. It isn't vote-kicking worthy and you are more then deserving enough of being reported for doing so.

As a matter of fact yes, I do have one more question to ask, the one question you haven't answered yet.
If in fact the under-geared, un-experienced, carried noob is "being carried" you don't need him/her in the party to clear the content anyway.
If they don't need to be there, "how are they holding anyone up"?, there is only one way to answer this, which totally invalidates every statement you've made in this thread.
The fact that 7 people took the time to kick the noob (who isn't needed) is the only real holdup you've mentioned.
Instead of just forgetting him, and moving on, you took the time to harass yourselves by making the effort to kick a noob who wasn't needed anyway, sounds like shoveling "air" to me.
