Amen to that. Speed runners --> Party finder. *they join DF for the gil reward bonus as well.
SE will have to chage 'Duty' for Helping newbies, get phat loot and gil.
CT for newbs, CT for veterans. (I've been into one lately: it was disastrous, I took the 30 min penalty, couln't handle the jerks out there who don't wait, locking people that didnt run to the next part, MT when you have lvl 50 gear, and not asking if someone else want to MT, no communication.. oh well, can't wait CT2 lol)
I would vouch for that for sure. You go in, you know exactly what you are getting into. Helping, giving advice, making them improve their story/skills, all for the fun and we get a better community, be it on your server or on another.
Let's share the love of the game.
The only thing SE needs to take into consideration and do something about is NOT put 10 cutscenes in middle of runs (like the rest of the 9999 MMOs' in the world that not put them). It just doesn't work and is not designed for an online game. Leave cutscenes for outside of dungeons and solo content.
That same newbie you feel bad about, may even become like those who kick him. Most newbies do seeing as the majority of players hate "CS watchers", they were all newbies once, right?
That newbie will finish that run and finish the story and then find out he needs 9999 of those myth stones to gear himself, I'm sure he won't stay as patient as you saw him.
Is it a good behaviour? no, but if SE truly want to solve this problem the way to go is to differentiate between content that should allow cutscenes and content that shouldn't. Otherwise it just won't stop. Players won't become nice after reading this thread or after SE remove vote-kick.

I don't really see what benefit groups get out of kicking the new people anyway. Chances are they would not be contributing that much toward the success of a mostly seasoned group that's trying to speedrun the zone even if they were skipping whatever cutscenes they could (they'll usually be rocking AF gear and a GC weapon at best), and I've found that people very rarely show up to replace missing party members in story roulette to begin with.
All too often I have begun Castrum Meridianum roulettes with someone who bailed before the DUTY COMMENCED even appeared, and we went on to finish the entire rest of the dungeon without that person ever getting replaced.
That's the issue though, the only reason anyone's there doing it is because of the roulette tomes. Catch-22.Make your own group for story runs - I could say the same for you and your speedruns. If you wanted a speedrun for Praetorium... for whatever reason, you could use the Party Finder/DIY service to make your own group. If you don't want the risk of being paired up with newbies who could potentially somehow prove as an "interruption" to your run, just don't run the Main Scenario roulette.
Nobody would set up a Prae SR just for 20 tomes; that would be ridiculous. If 20 was all you needed, you might as well cut a Brayflox run even shorter to 3-4 minutes and just kill the first boss only.
Oh look I can use pictures as well!

I am totally fine seeing repeat threads about a feature abuse that does harm to the over all state of the game. Every time some new player is booted out of a dungeon run that they need to continue with the story, the entire community as a whole is hurt. I wonder how many times these players can take it before they just quit playing. The people that can't take the time to help new players - or at least empathize with new players - only help to damage they game they play.
I see your point. The problem is, sadly, that this isn't an issue that is only in Praetorium. It is happening in nearly every endgame instance in the game, and no matter how rare, innocent players are being kicked for the sole benefit of others. It is an issue that is happening.
Hey, I don't like Praetorium's endless cutscenes as much as the next guy, and it was even more annoying on PS3 where there were extra 5-10 second loading screens before and after every single damn cutscene. Frankly, I don't care much about this game's storyline as nothing has really "wowed" me yet in terms of plot. I skipped all the cutscenes my first time through, even though it was a run with friends. But if someone else does, I'm not going to rush, scold, or kick them. I'll let them enjoy it, because who am I to stand in the way of their enjoyment?
I like how you seemingly ignored everything else I said and went straight for the picture meant as a kind-hearted jape. Thanks for your contribution, I guess.

A shame that happened. If I were tanking/healing and it passed, I'd end up telling the party, "Kicking somebody for watching cutscenes!? You people are scum, I'm out." Would I get replaced fast? Possibly, but if enough people do that, it can cause the entire run to become impossible for those jerks. I wouldn't mind causing them that kind of hassle, because they are the worst scum.
Well just going to say that despite what I said, I play exactly like you, I wait if the party wait and I'd never agree to kick if someone watch.
But I just offered the best way to tackle this problem IMO. Every game allows kicking, this shouldn't be different, what should be different is where to put cutscenes which SE extremly failed at lol
The simple fact is it doesn't happen as much as these people make it sound, it happens once and they come running to register their disgust on the internet, the alternative to vote kick was an actual issue.Trolling runs and afk tanks were a huge issue that was stopped by vote kick, one or two incidents a week is a MUCH better alternative.I am totally fine seeing repeat threads about a feature abuse that does harm to the over all state of the game.
