They were complaining, that is why they upped the myth cap to 450.
The real problem I think is that we want the primal 'Anima' and we've been denied![]()
The real problem is getting nothing for your efforts. People want some sort of progression even if it's very slow, if they put in their time and effort. This is mindless grinding for 12 items with a drop rate of 1-2% each and it's not fun.
Some alternarives proposed such as 50 fates per atma, or using < level 50 alternate jobs for the grind would help a lot, and provide a goal to work towards. I'm already grumbling about the 1500 myth tomes per book, but perhaps 500 myth tomes per atma might be worth it for those who got nothing for hours and hours of grinding fates.

It still isn't new content, there's nothing new aside from the 12 Atma items, the recolors and glows, the book graphics and the quest text I guess, everything else is just content that was already in the game before 2.2 aside from the 3 new dungeons, all packed in the form of books, no new enemies to fight or places to go that were created specifically for the quest. There's also currently no real incentive to finish more than one Animus aside from your main because there are other alternatives that are just easier and faster to get and some even offer better stats until the stat reallocation part is introduced, unless you really love grinding all the myth and subjecting yourself to bad RNG more than once which is fine I guess, but it still doesn't make it new content or even long lasting content because the luck part can also technically be done in a single day.
Atmas could use 3-4% more drop rate.
Books could end at 5 books.
Besides that they should of had another objective. Like...
Collect 3 Mirrors from Ifrit/Garuda/Titan Extreme. (8% chance to SB a primal weapon into a Mirror)
This be good also for people to just farm Levathian Weapons to SB for Mirrors.
Not that its hard it just gets boring doing samething for long period of time. I also find the books have the same objectives in the other 4 extra books.
They could of added more objectives per book. They could of added more Fates in each book. I just found the myth grinding to be the main issue with these trials. It isnt the Atma as much.
I still find Relic grind not hard enough. Kinda wish they had another Boss dungeon for the relic.

Myself and Eliot from Massively talk about Atma at the start of each of these podcast episodes.

Umm, you do know that you also have a lot of people that hate that kind of content right? The real problem is getting nothing for your efforts. People want some sort of progression even if it's very slow, if they put in their time and effort. This is mindless grinding for 12 items with a drop rate of 1-2% each and it's not fun.
To me, the WS, magian trial weapons and such things in FFXI that needed you to get x points sucked. I just can never get motivated with quests like that.
I like 9 books, for the purpose atma/animus has, it makes sense to have that many books for every stat upgrades not 5 books with +3-4 stats per book on them then you're done! Ta-da~ Animus.Books could end at 5 books. Not that its hard it just gets boring doing samething for long period of time. I also find the books have the same objectives in the other 4 extra books.

"Are you ready for Novus now guys!?" "Been ready since 2.2 came out, seeing it's just 5 books. Give us something new nao kthxbai." < Totally what would happen. (Yes, some people were already Animus after the the second week hit or so. But the point was to keep the majority preoccupied)
As far as Relic grind not being hard enough, Relic is what most people have now. Maybe not on every class but most people do have relics on the classes that matters to them. Why block out the people who couldn't do it or new players that need to play catch up? (Even with Echo some players are still having titan fails in some parties.) Edit: Keep in mind the dungeon involving it; AK was highly nerfed making it much easier which is why it doesn't feel hard.
Atma is Relic technically and some people find it a very long and awful grind. It's a time sink grind, that is harder than any boss I can ever imagine because players can't just beat their way through it or buy a run through it. They have to get the Atma to drop then actually work the Myth for it.
It's not the best systems I agree, but hopefully they will fix both systems seeing new content is probably next month and it's just getting closer. >.>;
