    AOE Overlay

    I don't know if any game actual does this but I think it would be a pretty neat feature. How this works is by giving a visual indication of the range/radius of an attack using something along the lines of a highlighted circle that is superimpose on the battlefield.

    It would give the player immediate feedback of their range and radius of their attacks.

    Dragon Age is the closest. I have seen it implemented in non MMO games but i can't recall seeing it in MMOs.

    WoW have it on some aoe, but there you select the point with mouse.
    I don't mind if a feature like that ever be implemented, but could be useful. But a lot of people will complain on "getting easier"

    It's the same old rant happened on level/aggro icons. A shitstorm on the game getting easier. Never mind if that icons could be hidden, the game was ruined :|
    Will probably be the same on thread indicator: even if could be tourn off, people will complain tanking would be easier.
    At least 3 people in my linkshell think that: never mind how many times i say in others game with aggro indicator tanking don't get any easier...you know the answer

    I've been asking for this since these forums were created. Please give it to us SE, especially for attacks with obnoxious AoE ranges like Iron Tempest or Arrow Helix. Aion actually had something like this but it was a little more discreet for normal attacks. Your targeting icon changed slightly when you were in range. Also there was a "Show distance to target" option in the menu and each skill listed it's range, if applicable.

    It doesn't make the game easier, it simply displays information. Whether you're approximating it or seeing it, you roughly know what most attack and AoE ranges are. I prefer having the visualization and actually being able to see it. That way less stupid, needless mistakes are made with AoE. Also maybe then a few more people would actually pay attention to AoE.

    Reminds me of the AoE indicators for spells in Grandia (Circle, line, and cone/fan AoE). Would be nice if they implemented it.
