That doesn't even make sense. My point was very clear, the argument that someone goes on a vacation for over a month is dumb. There are more than 2 people in your FC if you have a house, if there isn't then you don't deserve a house.
The rich be tryin to keep the poor folks down. Anyone that has a 2 person FC house is in the 1% and we should rally against them. Grizzlebeard here is part of the 1%.
Ah, I missed the third possibility. You fell through a hole in time from 18th century France. Liberté, égalité, fraternité!
I'm the Olympics Manager. You're not allowed to participate in the events because your sport, Javelin, is only a one man team. Doesn't matter how much effort you've put into practice! Sorry come back when your sport is a 10+ member based team.
^ That is pretty much your argument and it makes me /popcorn and laugh everytime I see it XD
It might be a little bit naive if not realized that, a FC house is owned by it's FC, and the FC is solely owned by it's master.
In other words, a FC house is solely owned by it's FC master.
Members can say it is their house, but in the real life or in the virtual system, only the FC master owned the house.
And the FC master can replace any members with any reasons regardless how much the members have contributed.
In order to free-up the land of all sizes, also free up server capcaity and chracter names,
it will be very clear, simple and fair to remove n-days inactive characters,
entire FC will be auto-dismissed if the master has been removed, FC house will be automatically forfeit upon FC dismission.
While characters are not normally deleted (though XI did this early on, after 3 months of terminating your sub, they'd delete your character, a few YEARS later they would restore your character if you came back, and a few years and many complaints later they stopped doing it all together) many MMO's will allow people to ask for the names of characters that have been inactive for long periods of time. and in a past patch, if the FC leader is inactive for over a month, leadership is transferred to an Active player here in XIV.In order to free-up the land of all sizes, also free up server capcaity and chracter names,

Player
This isn't any different than other games. At least it's just an activity timer! On LotRO you have to pay weekly rent or be evicted. This needs attention. Because I feel like its not fair to players who put time and Gil into buying a house. Now before people get crazy I'm sure this won't effect large Free Companies, It may not effect very many at all but there is a chance it could. Most likely it will only effect a small minority of small FCs. Another thing to consider Will this happen to Personal Housing as well? The reason behind this is to free up server space instead of SE adding new wards.
I'm just wondering, but is this really that big of an issue, given that the time limit is 35 days? If no one in your entire FC bothers to even enter the residence during (and even after, by a couple days) a full month, doesn't really sound like you really wanted it in the first place.
Now, I would say if they want to forfeit the property and the stuff within, they should honestly make the system so that the cost that you paid for the house at the time it was purchased (or going by some business models, the last lowest available price if it was purchased before the full price reduction) is returned to your Company Chest. The exception being the property deed itself and the NPCs you placed inside the house.
They could possibly create a new NPC similar to the Calamity Salvager that will store any furnishings that were inside/outside of the house so that they aren't simply deleted out of the system that the FC can access at any time afterwards, not as a new storage model, you can only retrieve but not store.
But again, if you aren't going to even use the house in any fashion, even to just enter, make a repair, then leave for a month at a time. Why is it such a big deal?
Reread the quote, I'll even repaste the relevant part.
after patch 2.3 we’ll also be looking into adding a feature
Key words are.. "After patch 2.3" not in 2.3. also looking into is not we are implementing.
