I'm just wondering, but is this really that big of an issue, given that the time limit is 35 days? If no one in your entire FC bothers to even enter the residence during (and even after, by a couple days) a full month, doesn't really sound like you really wanted it in the first place.

Now, I would say if they want to forfeit the property and the stuff within, they should honestly make the system so that the cost that you paid for the house at the time it was purchased (or going by some business models, the last lowest available price if it was purchased before the full price reduction) is returned to your Company Chest. The exception being the property deed itself and the NPCs you placed inside the house.

They could possibly create a new NPC similar to the Calamity Salvager that will store any furnishings that were inside/outside of the house so that they aren't simply deleted out of the system that the FC can access at any time afterwards, not as a new storage model, you can only retrieve but not store.

But again, if you aren't going to even use the house in any fashion, even to just enter, make a repair, then leave for a month at a time. Why is it such a big deal?
