Funny thing about a game is that it's not real life.
I really dislike this counterpoint towards the cost of something. It's ridiculous to be so narrow-minded about it. Utilizing this argument, why should anything RL related be in the game? Why do we need to have anything be identical to RL? Why can't cloth be the most defensive armor type? Magic... it can do literally anything.
Chances are, you're thinking that's just stupid. It doesn't make any sense, it's not how things work, etc. Well why do those concepts, which are true IRL, have to exist and make sense in the game when the concept of cost justification shouldn't?
