square cannot upgrade 7 years old hardware, im afraid ps3 version runs already as good as it can given the technical limits
It's not a graphics issue, it's more of a ram/memory issue with the PS3. I'm currently playing on PS3 and have been doing fine for the most part, but I did recently put me a PS4 on layaway. I wanna upgrade as soon as possible, especially with the free upgrade from PS3 > PS4 while it's still there.why is graphics everything for some of you people?
serious question would love an explanation. seriously you don't need your eyes to have an orgasm
to play this game. i must be the only person amazed at how clear it looks and i never had a super cool pc
before. i'm happy with what i got lol.
i'm sure in a year or so ps4, will drop in prices and have games out actually worth buying for the console.
right now this game isnt worth $400 and i'd drop sub for a while if they kick ps3 soon.
That's the other thing, as a couple people have pointed out, about dropping/keeping the service for PS3 users.
It wont happen, the company wouldn't want to single a player base out by dropping PS3 support, to cater to PC/PS4 users. While some players would grumble but continue to support it (I really would question whether to invest monies into a company that would do that personally), most would simply drop SE as a whole, including future games if they treated their customers in that way.
Now, if it came down, lets say in 5 years or so that the overall player base ended up being at like a massive scale one way, as in a 60% pc, 39% ps4 and 1% ps3..then yeah, they would likely drop it as soon as possible in order to beef up things on their end. But again, that wont likely ever happen because there are far too many console users in their native country, plus again, singling out a particular type of player base due to their hardware choice would be an extremely bad publicity move and SE has already had enough bad publicity to last them a few decades.
Unless..in doing so, they work a deal out with Sony to encourage people to purchase a PS4, to upgrade from PS3 to the newer platform with some form of discount plan, either in the system itself, or in subscription fees to their game. That would likely help smooth over rustled feathers in dropping support for PS3.

This.
Wish I could find the quote but yeah. PS3 will get first expansion (3.0?) but past that has not been decided.
PS3 Will be supported at least until 3.0, so that mean for sure one more year, that “support” include gameplay on the system, of curse it will be limited until a certain point since the long goal term is than you move to the new system.Or, since the launch of PS4 will there be no further development regarding improving the overquality of gameplay on a PS3 system? What about people who don't feel like upgrading right away?
I'm sure everyone wants a PS4, but maybe everyone can't get one, or just don't feel like buying one for a long time.
Will measures be made to try to increase load times, the HUD and make the game more user friendly, or will Sqaure-Enixjust give up on their PS3 players? ... !
Si hablas español este post es importante para ti: http://bit.ly/1vZI4Gc
I read on another thread that a person said (this is NOT a quote from SE) it most likely only reason XIV was made for PS3 was because it was promised that was going to be released on on PS3 back in 1.0 days, which I would agree with.
The upgrade feature is only offered to December 31st 2014 which after that you will have to pay for PS4 regardless if person has PS3 copy already but once you do the upgrade then yes it is permanent.
Sorry for sort of hijacking the thread, but if I don't upgrade before the end of the year, will I be able to transfer my account/character to the PS4 later on? Or is that not known?
