Coming from guild wars 2 to this first thing I did was fate grinding lol. Just how I learned to level

This whole argument quite frankly, is silly and pointless.

1. A lot of people are doing fates.
(this is a good thing, it promotes party play and faster fate respawns)
2. A lot of people have shiny gear
(this motivates younger characters to strive for the high end, but due to level cap, this gear is NOT SUPERIOR.)
3. A lot of people have multiple class abilities & mounts
(this is a slight advantage, but by no means is it going to make them blockade young character access.)

I thoughts FATEs were more for "I was just in the Area" kinda thing. AT FIRST anyway. Thought fate grinding really started when players were on their second play through or alt classes. When i started the game back in AUG, dint really touch fates. Rather I had patience for atleast 1 dungeon a day. Back than 1 dungeon either got you 50% of your bar or 1 Level. Plus Main Scenerio and Hunting log. took about 3 weeks to hit 50 though o3o.

If you ever encounter him again advise him of how he has much better tools to level up at this point than fates.

im a bit confused here. you are level synced for the fates, when you are level synced arent your ilvl synced as well? thus making the zenith weaker?

To top gear, at maximum level for the FATE.

That's part of the reason why I tried to grind out my ATMAs in the higher level parts of each zone, and I did the lower level zones first before moving onto the higher ones.

1) level 10 shouldnt be fate grinding, TONS of quests that will get you to 20 in a few hours.
2) once this guy hits 20 he can get a mount and that whole outran thing is gone.
3) fate grinding isnt really efficient anymore anyways, grind while you que randoms and bask in your massive exp

At least they're not soloing the fate for 15 mins only to fail. I remember plenty of those. Kids have it so easy these days

I'm leveling an alt right now.

If I come across a Fate, I'll run it, but I don't need the XP from it...even though I'm leveling 2 classes at the same time (ACN and CNJ), which new players just don't do (only leveling their first class til 30 when they realize they need a second and third) Heck, my "main" class (28 ACN) is my highest (CNJ is almost 27), and I don't even run dungeons on it (that's my CNJ...I'm not sitting in queue lol), just leveling with quests (no leves and I've forgotten both Hunting Logs). I may even get SMN/SCH before I open Haukke Mannor...which is kinda scary lol

Yeah, I do know what I'm doing and how to maximize my XP across 2 classes (really should get on THM again and get Swiftcast...) but I do remember overleveling for the MSQ until later on for my main (this character) when I had no idea what to do.
